Im looking for the best domaining site in terms of Auction + Sales + Exposure and the least headache; and least costs when it comes to listing them for price.

which marketplace has it all; Uniregistry, Sedo, Afternic, NameJet, Flippa, BuyDomains, SnapNames, etc?
and whats the difference between each of those marketplaces?

    Thanks in advance

You could try dan.com, free to list, simple clean landing pages & some of the lowest commission of all the sites (no, Idon't work for them !).

Domain auction is no way to make it...not for me and not for most people. It's a fantasy that we can flip domains to domainers on these auction sites and make profit IMO. it rarely works. The only way I know that works is selling to endusers.

Afternic is the best choice of all above though, because 'endusers' search the domain and see it available (for the premium price) @ their registrar when they actually type in the domain to buy (you must set a BIN).

Other than that, they all offer about 0 exposure, and you just giving commission for nothing (MOSTLY)!

But sales mostly depends on the quality of the name, so if the name is of decent value it'll sell regardless of the site, but I'm wondering why would you pick Afternic above sedo? Are the sales faster on Afternic

b/c afternic has networked with all the most popular registrars (where people search domains). What happens is any domain listed with afternic with a BIN will show up as for sale when someone manually types it at any of the registers. Anyone that really wants that domain will be able to click to buy right there, and have it...probably without ever even knowing what a domainer is.

So if a person decides to buy an Afternic domain from Sedo/godaddy would the conducted sale on a site like namebio appear under Afternic or Sedo/Godaddy?

Sure, but the one you forward to is the important one, and it's where you'll get the majority of sales.

Due to the 9% commission at DAN/Undeveloped I am thinking of sending my domain traffic over there for a few months to test out. It also seems to be better with ad blockers, as Sedo often locks up under the same circumstances.

I totally agree with this, and it's mostly me pushing buyers to Sedo and not the other way around. Commissions are getting out of hand, as this 15-20% is crazy and automatically inflates end-user prices.

    Here are my results:

Sedo: Lots of sales and tons of (lowball) offers, but that is to be expected as that's where I push my domain traffic.
Afternic/GoDaddy: Many sales and a few offers - BINs seem to work best there and I haven't really had many offers. Best marketplace if you're not pushing traffic and again, BIN for the WIN.
Flippa: A few sales, but nothing since they changed gears and absolutely buried Domains. It's a dead zone now, and you gotta pay to win/lose..
DAN/Undeveloped: Recently joined so no data.
Uniregistry: Zero sales and zero offers and that's over many years. :xf.cool:

    Hi

if you're pushing sales there, then maybe you can try sedo's external transfer service

    fee's start at 3% +

    *
so, you would have to remove the name from sedo to save on fee's

    https://sedo.com/us/services/domain-transfer-service/external-transfer-order-page/

    imo….

Thanks, and whenever I have a few free minutes I fully plan to set up an outgoing service and send all my traffic there.

Again, when I have a few free minutes.... :xf.confused:

so then the best would be to build your own Landing-Page (remove Domain from SEDO's marketplace) and do only the Escrow via SEDO at 3% commission ?

Can anybody recommend a script for creating landing-pages on the fly for a couple hundred domains (where the main domain / domain at which the hosting is located is hidden) ?

You know, after looking over my sales data I just realized how important the BIN is at Afternic/GD - I barely use it, but whenever i do, sales seem to happen through GD organically.

There seems to be a lot of GD buyers there with cash in their pockets and buying what fits their budget.

I forgot to mention the following category:

People and businesses who contact me through the WHOIS contact form, which in terms of sales is better than Flippa and worse then Afternic/GD, but in terms of offers, it's been second only to Sedo.

In answer to your question, I can recommend DNHat - a full-blown portfolio management and marketplace setup solution.
It enables you not only create stunning landing pages, but also to optionally link to 22 marketplaces (Dan, Sedo, GoDaddy, BrandBucket, BrandPa, Epik etc.)

On Afternic.com; what is the wisest minimum $ to make a sales pitch; $20 minimum or $100 minimum?

^if you're dealing with ordinary 2 word domains, seems 2k is the sweet spot.

I just noticed and was surprised Dynadot.com is not shown as a member of the Afternic Premium Network. Anyone know why?

48 other registrars participate in it. How negative of an issue is that if your names are with Dynadot? Assuming that is correct info, Is it a good reason to consider leaving Dynadot?

Dynadot is a fast transfer registrar with both Sedo and Afternic. Domains registered there can qualify for premium network exposure. Note that the registrars selling from Afternic are not exactly the same as those that get you on that network (which is confusiong).

Thanks. But the question is why are not on the list? Dynadot is only in the standard network.

P.S. I think the Premium Network and Fast Transfer only are different in some way.

I think your title should have "exposure" first in the list as it will impact the second 2, "auction" and "sales".

If your domain has only a few ideal candidates then auction will not work too well unless you can get at least 2 very motivated buyers to participate. Most end-users IMO don't understand domain auctions.

Unfortunately, none of the marketplaces will give your domains much of an exposure unless you purchase their premium listing packages, such as home page or showcase listing option.

As mentioned already, I recommend you list on all marketplaces but also create your own marketplace and point your domains to your own sales pages. Then you get the benefit of traffic FROM those marketplaces plus you can do your own exposure through SEO, social networks, blogging, etc.

Our platform (see my signature) allows you to do that quickly and professionally.
