:imho: -

- repeated bumps in sales threads with no price lowering or new info

- arguments about appraisals

- complaints about estibot - its free so if you don't like it, don't use it

- bumping ones last 5 or so threads in a row in a sales forum

- disrespect for mods or senior (3-4 years +) members who offer opinions

- "official" threads :hehe:

What are your NP pet peeves?

Definitely the appraisal arguments, especially when they say that since Estibot says it's worth a high price and they think they should get it...

Then there's the "Hot Pronouncable Domain For Sale!" threads...
When you look at the domain it's something like xyaluf.com

All of the above!

I don't like lowball offers in the High Priced forum.

That's a great one!

I agree with Steve as well - how about when people ask for "offers from $100" and someone posts a $5 offer!

I forgot one: How about domains wanted threads like "pronounceable dictionary LLL.com with 10,000+ visits per day and 15 years age. Maximum budget low xx"

I'll have one of those please....Lol!!

One of my peeves is when a good thread get's completely sidetracked and the original posting get's lost in the quagmire.

People taking any opportunity to spam their irrelevant domains into threads.

My personal favourite goes something like this.

Title of Thread "Dubai.com sold for $2.8 million"

Poster " Wow this is great news for my visitdubaiifyoucanitshotbutitsgreat.me

Rudeness under the guise of "humor," especially to new members.

In grade school, we called that "bullying."

My biggest pet peeve is when you post an auction/sale for a certain domain name... and then someone goes and posts the same name in a different extension, or something really similar.... especially when they register the name because your name gave them the inspiration! bah-humbug

A little list (some of this was stated above):

1.) Domainers (mostly noobs) who rely solely on a free appraisal to justify their asking pice. I hate offering $20 just to have the buyer reply, "Sorry but no. Estibot says it's worth $3,000 easily."

2.) Offended domainers who fail to have read the appraisal rule that one shouldn't be offended by another memver's appraisal. This piggy-backs on the above: "My domain is reg fee? You're f*cking stupid, asshole. Nameboy says it's worth $12,500. Get a life, loser, and LEARN TO APPRAISE!" This is just so saddening.

3.) Misleading sales titles. I recall one guy trying to sell a domain of Madonna's full name. She has 2 middle names, pretty much, which the owner tried to sucker us with. His domain had Madonna's first/last name, yes, but also the first letter of both middle names. There is a difference between (First name)(Last name).com and (First name)(Middle initial 1)(Middle initial 2)(Last name).com.

4.) Stretching the truth/using strange senses of imagination: This is common. Example? A LLLL.com owner who states that his domain is pronounceable and then gives buyers an awkward pronounciation that requires imagination. "I'm selling RZOR.com -- pronounced "razor!" But there are some who give an honest -- yet silly -- effort: ESEL pronounced as "easel" CASR pronounced as CASAR or Cass Are, etc. Dude, I don't always see these are pronounceable and many others, the same. Stop with your senseless propaganda.

5.) Thread crashing: This can be in many forms. "You're selling RedApples.com. Nice! If anyone's interested, I have GreenApples.com to sell." That's the most common I've seen.

There are many others but these are what probably bug me the most.

I'm with you on this one. Kind of peeved that people reply (even though I admit to being curious about what is offered.)

This is kind of followed up by people wanting names with a $xx - $xxx budget who get hundreds of offers and keep replying they haven't found "exactly" what they are looking for (which is usually a $xxxx domain).

I'll take GreenApples.com please!!!!

My least favorite posts are the hyper, no nothings who expect everyone to get worked up over their own ignorance. The ones I am talking about always go something like this...

GoDaddy is a huge SCAM!!!!!! I wanted a name they had and it was supposed to expire and because I looked it up on their site, they let someone grab it off the drop. It has NO MEANING to anybody but me and there is NO WAY anyone could have just come up with the same name as this(it is very unique because it is what my friend and I used to call each other "KoolKats" with a "K" mind you) so you know they are just SCAMMING to get a higher price from us. BOYCOTT GoDaddy!!!! If you have run into this same situation please pm me so we can look into a lawsuit...I have a friend whose father is a Tax Lawyer and she thinks he will take the case.

Nice idea

My pet peeve has to be misleading sales titles.

I know most of us are too pressed for time to open sales threads that have no connection with the title ;)

I think one of my biggest pet peeves is to have an auction running and it's getting bids and all the sudden a member gets banned while he/she is the highest bidder.....leaves me with a weird situation to deal with.

Also one more thing that bothers me is when someone asks for an appraisal on lets say GoogleStuff.com and you say to them it's TM'ed and they fight you over the fact that it isn't. I mean I'm trying to save this person from lawsuits and a major headache and they totally ignore the facts!

3.) Misleading sales titles.

NP's worst failing point is that. Half the time the title has nothing to do with the actual domain(s) or is purposely misleading to get you to click on the thread and thus wastes your valuable time.

I hate it when people start a topic about a controversial issue, then edit/delete it when they've embarrassed themselves.

Post #13 had a good example of this except many noobs are hellbent on their idiotic rhetoric and won't let it die down.
