Hey,

Ive been interested in backordering a domain name for about a year now and the domain i want expires in december if the owner doesnt renew it, now i have signed up for GoDaddy's backordering service already for the domain, but ive heard that probably wasnt a good choice.

So what will happen to the domain once it expires? Whats the best way for me to get it?

I wouldnt say its a great domain name as when i chose that name no one had any other extensions of that name (now i own a few). However it does contain a VERY popular word.

The registrar where the domain is registered isnt one of snapnames.com prefered partners who send there domains to snapnames if this helps. https://www.snapnames.com/preferred_info.jsp

All i can say is i dont want to get into a bidding war with anyone. Because i will lose.

Any help and information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

chances are if its a decent name its not going to expire, sorry

if it does, go with snap and pool

If it does expire and there is more than 1 backorder for that domain, most probably it will end up into a bidding war.

Additionally, if you went with Godaddy, you have already been charged for the backorder and more than likely GD won't get it and you'll be forced to find another domain to back order.

If you go with Pool or Snapname, then you'll only get charged if your backorder was successful.

If it's a decent domain no doubt it will go to auction. Maybe best best is contact the owner before it expires and see if they want to sell?
