Backordering Question

When backordering a domain through enom's Clubdrop, Snap or Pool I have a couple of questions:

1) When ordering a name that is deleting is it better to ordering through all three companies for a better chance of getting the name?

2) I have just started to backorder and enter a bid for a couple of names and never heard the results after the auction was over. Is this the norm, to never know the results of the auction? I can't seem to find much info about the results once the auction process is over, so I guess if you get the name, you will know who won! Any thoughts?

Thanks,

DC

yes, you have to follow the auction on the site. However, some of them send you an email when you have been outbid.

dcgiants, I'm in the same position as you. Just can't seem to nail anything decent on backorder. Which service are you using? I'm using snap.

Which drop services a domain name goes to upon deletion depends on who the registrar was. I.E. Snapnames will never have domain names that were registered at enom.

Hi Johnson,

Since posting my question/comment I have been backordering the pending delete names through the big three: Snap, Pool and enom - at the same time. But, Dan has a good point - no sense in ordering a name thru Snap when the name is registered through enom.

The tricky part then is the auction process. The auctions I have been in have been very competitive and the prices high. The steep learning curve I think is coming up with a valuation for those expired names.
