RE: Autonomous & Driverless car domains

Seems like there's a lot of news lately, as recently as the last few days, of advances in driverless & autonomous cars. There are multiple auto makers getting ready to launch some form of these cars, and of course, Google is working on their project car.

I have a handful of domains related to this news & technology, and I am wondering if anybody else has any? Also, any spike in traffic to your domains, or news of sales???

Self-DrivingFleet(s) - AutomatedFleet(s)

Lyft sees drivers as part of future

Lyft will keep humans inside its self-driving vehicles once they are part of its fleet, Taggart Matthiesen, the company's Director of Product recently told Recode.

Until now, it seemed safe to assume the firm would let its fully autonomous vehicles operate unoccupied to cut costs, and since many of Lyft's competitors are taking this approach.

Keeping a worker inside self-driving vehicles could give Lyft some key advantages

  • It could help the company bolster the in-car experience. Once cars become fully autonomous, riders will have far more time for activities in the vehicle, whether its to purchase goods and services, stream music and videos, or access their social media profiles. And if Lyft keeps a human inside its self-driving cars, that person could be a conduit to these services for riders. For instance, if travelers are being picked up by a Lyft self-driving car at an airport or train station, the employee in the car, if he or she had access to user information, could find personalized restaurant or sight seeing recommendations for these riders. And that could be a valuable enough user experience to attract more potential customers.
  • Humans in the car could also help Lyft persuade consumers that it's self-driving fleet is safer than competitors'. Since self-driving cars can't yet navigate the roads on their own, most consumers are rightly skeptical of their safety — 54% of US drivers would feel less safe sharing the road with a self driving car, and less than one-third of US consumers are willing to ride in a self-driving taxi. But if Lyft keeps an employee in its self-driving cars who could take control of the vehicle in emergency situations and ensure the vehicles are safe, consumers might feel safer in Lyft's self-driving cars and be more willing to ride in them, which could boost the number of rides Lyft's self-driving cars can book.

Driverless Cars - The Race to Level 5 Autonomous Vehicles

Much like the infamous flying car, people have been dreaming of cars that can do the driving for them for nearly a century.

While their aerial brethren are still largely mired in the conceptual stage, the technology to put self-driving cars on the road is already here. Of course, there are still questions of legislation, liability and ethics to consider, but almost every major automotive company currently has a self-driving car either being tested on the road or in the works.

Meanwhile, many companies outside the automotive industry are now either producing or partnering with more experienced to make autonomous vehicles a reality. With so many players in the game, producing so many different vehicles, we wanted to take a look at who is doing what and how far along they are.

Cars with autonomous capabilities are currently ranked on a level system established by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). The levels range from 0 to 5, with Level 0 being no automation at all and Level 5 being completely autonomous in all conditions.

Apple Developing Self-Driving Campus Shuttle Service as Part of Scaled Back Car Effort

Apple is planning to develop a self-driving shuttle service that will transport Apple employees from one building to another as part of its autonomous vehicle efforts, reportsThe New York Times in a piece that explores why Apple scaled back its car ambitions.

Apple's "open secret" car project shifted focus from a full autonomous vehicle to an autonomous driving system last year, and to test that system, Apple will reportedly use employee shuttles.

Called "PAIL," an acronym for "Palo Alto to Infinite Loop," the shuttle program will transport employees between Apple's myriad offices in Silicon Valley. Apple is said to be planning to use a commercial vehicle "from an automaker" paired with its own autonomous driving technology for the shuttles.

Five Apple employees familiar with Apple's car project spoke to The New York Times about the shuttle program and also shared some details about the technologies Apple explored before the project was downscaled from car to software.

When Apple first started exploring car technology under the "Project Titan" name, it hired hundreds of people with expertise in everything from automation to car manufacturing. The team explored a wide range of technologies, including silent motorized doors, car interiors sans steering wheel or gas pedals, augmented reality displays, an improved LIDAR sensor that protrudes less from the top of a car, and spherical wheels.

The self-driving cars publicity was up on the radio this morning in Toronto, with an expectation of the autonomous vehicles by the end of next year.

I've got the exact twin domain names:

Self-DrivingCar .ca
Self-DrivingCars .ca

AutonomousVehicles .ca

That's a good one.
Had a low offer for Driverlesslabs.com, which I declined. "labs" being one of the top keywords in brandable niche, it won't sell for cheap. Wouldn't mind holding for more years.

Dominos Takes High-Tech Pizza Delivery To Level 4 With Ford

Pizza. Technology.

If you think of those two words together, it’s probably because you’re thinking of programmers working in a dark lab, late at night with a cold pie and a Red Bull at their side. At Domino’s Farms on the northeast side of Ann Arbor, Mich, there is also a technology team that does more than just clean viruses from employee computers and replace broken mice. In recent years the pizza business has increasingly been transformed into an e-commerce powerhouse and Domino’s has been using technology to upgrade the home delivery experience the company pioneered in 1960. The latest Domino’s experiment includes some help from Ford’s autonomous vehicles group.

This week, a Domino’s store in the company’s hometown will start dispatching a Ford Fusion bristling with sensors to deliver pizzas to customers in its coverage area. The car is part of Ford’s automated driving development fleet with some additional modifications. Domino’s worked with Roush Engineering to add one of its Heatwave thermal compartments to the Fusion along with a tablet interface on the outside to give customers access to their order.
