Automated Sites - How To!

Hello everyone,

Finally i have re-uploaded the loved automated tutorial for everyone's shakes. I am sorry about the delay in getting it all up and running again. It's been one of those projects that keeps getting bogged down.

As i said before, i have made $100s off of using this automated site system, many people never revel their secrets but this is honestly so simple, any and everyone should be able to use this help themselves and their websites visitors.

Using RSS is a key way to keep people informed but at the same time it can be used to make an automated website which is what i plan on showing here very briefly i will be creating a video tutorial for a more in-depth explanation of some tips and tricks.

The first KEY step is finding your websites niche and domain. After all your domain and niche is going to make yourself known!

Of course you'll need a preexisting template. If you'd like you can use a free open source template which if your just beginning is a great way to go; on the other hand if your experienced you are more thanw welcomed to use your own xhtml & css templates. As a matter of a fact any website that allows javascript can use this.

You'll need to find an rss feed that matches your niche; example you run a music website, you grab itunes rss feed for top songs of the day. Copy the link.

The part where i come in is here. In order to take the RSS feed and turn it into place able code for your website you need to visit this website
My RSS CODE - The source for your RSS to Java!

Enter your selected RSS Feed URL into the text box, and select your settings (there is a description about each little setting and as i said earlier i plan on doing a video tutorial to go more in-depth).

Lastly Click Generate Javascript, and copy your javascript and post it on your website's backend and go!

I realize it's a little broadly explained, so if you have any questions feel free to comment here or PM me.

Hope everyone can find at least some sort of use for this short little tip and tutorial.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Guys I have a much better way now if you are using RSS feeds. Check out my new free PHP news script. :)

Free PHP News Script - Feeded News

You can add feeds in the admin panel and it will display them in html format on the main site. Easy to setup and easy to customize! Your own site instantly. :]

Nice.
Well done

Wow I've been away from namepros for awhile now, we'll the whole web world for that matter...
I'll be working on a renewed version of this to make things up to date and such!

Perhaps this thread should be unpinned (err, unstickied,) since the original site is now a parking page? Here's to seeing the automated site tool being revived; it was obviously quite popular.

For those curious about what myrsssource.com "was"... check out the Wayback Archive for the site here (dated January 2008):

My RSS Resource ~ RSS To JavaScript

Cheers,

Thank you for the info. I have been using RSS feeds for some time now also. But what is the best website to buy the template from? I tried templatemonster and they are ok but a bit expensive when you try to launch multiple sites.

Is there any alternative out there for this tool seeing as this one is M.I.A right now?

Hey guys as you can see i have been bogged down but none the less i have not forgotten this thread.
Give me another day or so and i will re update the whole thread to working order. You gotta remember how old this post was =).

I hope to have an html version this time. But no promises... i know you can do it... it's just a royal pain... and i am gonna try and make a script but for the fact of speed and such i will be doing the existing javascript one here in hopefully the next few hours.

Theres no denying the usefulness of automated feeds.
I like this service and I will follow this up.

Just remember to never rely only on this but to also bring in other content or make your own.

Hey guys a quick update, as a few of you saw (thanks for the pms) my birthday was yesterday, so life's a little off schedule Not to mention i had 13 hours of travel to get to Boston for a tournament... Anyways needless to say i do have a working javascript version online RIGHT now.

That being said i am just cleaning up a few things, my script no longer works and in the rush to hurry up i have used an opensource script. And it's not as nearly clean cut as the old one. Sooo i hope to have this one updated here on the post today but no promises, as i am headed sight seeing in bos.

If your asking if i still use this method, i still sometimes use rss automation. But the truth is i really am struggling to find time to work period now. But if you'd like an example i will be working on one.

I second with the member whitebark on it. Using javascript to display RSS is futile. Don't rely on this method to create your minisites.
