Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

@Atom.com

On the payment plan field it shows "custom" but no longer shows the down payment we set. Even if we click it - the downpayment is not shown. Can it please show the downpayment we set on the dashboard view? Otherwise we have no way of verifying if it is what we want

On first glance I thought this new measure would go some way to create a more level playing field.

In reality all it does is create even more disparity for the items $10k and over.

I am at the Gold level.

So, if I have an approved name at what Atom said the maximum should be at $52,995 I can now boost that to (3x $52,999) which would be $158,985?

If I am correct then something isnt right because I cant even boost it $5 to $53,000...

Its 3x the approved price and the max amount showing up there is that calculated amount.

Atom seller invoices, where the buyer has to pay VAT, continue to show that the VAT has been passed on to the seller, even though Atom said they would handle all VAT payments as of January 1 and not pass VAT on to sellers. In the below example, I did not receive the stated $136.40, but rather $106.40. @Atom.com

Forgive me but I trying to wrap my head around this latest change and it just doesnt make sense to me.

The max amount that you see in that screenshot error message is the max amount Atom approved the domain to be listed at way back in June 2025. That $52,995 was the original max given to me for this particular domain.

So, as a gold tier account, I should be able to increase it 3x the max approved price.

Correct?

But I cant even add $5 more to make it $53,000...

I have other domains that were approved > $10,000 when I first applied for premium approval, I cant even add $1 over the former approved max for any of those names.

What am I missing with this?

However, I can raise the price of <$10,000 accepted domains up to and including $10,000 as per the change.

That part of the change is working but the 3x part of it doesnt see to work.

Find your old approved email to see the original approved price.
3x it. That is your max. It would appear it was approved at $17,666. If it was approved for less, consider yourself lucky that you can go as high as $52,995

The domain that I tried I had appealed the price to that amount so maybeeeee those names are not part of the new rules? Names that were appealed for pricing?

So, I tried a different name. This name had an approved range of 5,499 to 10,999 (email screen shot below)

I just tried to see if that name would go above 10,999. I just chose 19,999 to try and got an error with low to high pricing that doesnt correleate with the approval email priciing that I received in June:

The approved price was $5,499. You are allowed to list at $16,499 (3x approved price). Not range. Therefore you can't list at $19,999.

OK, I see that now and the math makes sense for the domain name. Thank you.

Can anyone using Firefox confirm whether the domains destre.ss and painle.ss resolve to their landers, or show errors like they do for me? I'd rather not go through the pain of contacting Atom about these for the third time without being sure about what the issue is, since their support clearly has no clue and no ability to figure it out, so I'd like to rule out DNS caching vs a bug in Firefox/SSL.

@Hashim likely just a caching issue your side. Give it an hour or so. Working fine here.

Thanks guys. Interestingly after deleting Firefox's DNS cache for the third time they're now both resolving, so maybe it's because Atom finally cleared their own DNS cache after a month, but the direct links from my portfolio are still failing with the same error. If you click on one of the .ss domains from hashimaziz.com, do they still resolve? This is what I'm seeing when I click on meatle.ss from there, for example.

Both are working in my Firefox browser. On the plus side your domains are going to show as on fire with visitors suddenly showing up! :)

This certificate error when clicking from the portfolio isn't limited to Firefox either, so is almost definitely an Atom bug. Weird that it's not showing up for anyone else though, I've cleared both Firefox and Chrome certificate caches.

I don't really pay much attention to views on individual landers, as far as I can tell it even includes your own views when you're logged in so it has limited use as a metric. In the end the only thing that matters are conversions. ;)

Yes, to both.

Upgrading a large batch from Plus to Premium causes a Host Error (Gateway Time-out) on Atom.com, while Cloudflare is working.

I've seen this several times now.

@Atom.com

Currently, when a domain is upgraded from Plus to Premium, there is a "dead zone" in the transition. After Atom accepts the upgrade but before the seller approves it, the domain lander stops functioning and redirects to the Atom homepage as if it were unconfigured.

This creates a poor user experience and potential loss of leads. I suggest a more seamless solution where the existing lander remains active throughout the entire upgrade process until the Premium status is fully finalized. Please look into fixing this transition logic.
