Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

Is there a way to appeal a price for an approved pending Premium name? In the past what I did was accept, leave as MO, and then appeal the price. Is that the only way?

I haven't done it recently, so it may have changed. But back in 2024, I appealed a price while it was still pending my approval. But of course it wasn't listed as Premium during the appeal.

Yea, I just don't find a way to appeal it while it sits as "pending". hmmm

Has everyone else's direct lander visits taken a hit lately? Looking at the chart, mine are almost half of what they were the previous week.

I'm assuming the bot filtering algorithm is aggressively removing these too.

Yes , same. I am sure it is due to the much more aggressive bot treatment that they announced not long ago.

Please Atom@com filter out logged in domainer admin visits and dont count any preview visits. Stats are terrible. Thanks.

Also pls, Atom here is another customer proved testing wrong behavior.
Click as domainer to "Public Portfolio" and than I am pumping my "Platform discovery views".

I have just feeling that it do counts a lot. I have tiny portfolio, so I see that spike after few days of my inactivity.

TL;DR: I dont want my own visits to be counted.

Here is proof. One day and I have many spikes. It is like each domain being counted same time via that "Public Portfolio" page.

And if I click to Repeat Views & Inquiries
than I see visits only from my region. So in my eyes its total analytics mess. But no problem for me, 99% visits are mine.

@Atom.com

My 'Time Range' dropdown currently only has one option, 7 days.

@Atom.com

Just to confirm, the green 'New' tag indicates a new visitor and not a new new visit by a previous user?

That would make the country of origin coincidental, or are you running some marketing campaign in DE?

On the chance it's a bot, have you ever had a case where a bot actually made a purchase and the seller got paid?!

I've been seeing pretty consistent direct as I had a lot of domains pointing over where my internal was lower as expected. Have seen some 500 errors today though so see if that's a temp fluke or if it will continue erroring out cause maybe too much stuff going on.

Seems there is problem with buying Atom registered domains through wholesale marketplace. May be related to Atom becoming a registrar?

As soon as buy now at wholesale button is clicked, below is the error. Support guy says "I checked with the team and confirmed that there's an issue with Atom-owned names being added to the wholesale marketplace by mistake. You may disregard those."

This error comes up with just any Atom owned domain. Others are fine.
