Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

Does Lifestyle images do any good if we already have a logo?

I'm also curious about this lately. Creating a relevant lifestyle image for each domain name individually takes a lot of time for relatively big portfolio.

While we are on the subject of retargeting ads, I am also curious about this; It is known that Atom makes advertising investments for premium names and therefore the commission rates are high and that it needs to be notified in advance to bring them back to standard.

However, although names with plus status are also within the scope of retargeting ads, we can turn them into standard mode at any time. I wonder how the advertising expenses made for plus names that are brought back to standard after a while are covered?

So I did a test and "super boosted" one of my Premium finance names for a week. I'm in day 6 of 7.
Has anyone else tried Boost or Super boost? What was the impact? Please share your experience.

I have tried both of them for many different industry domains and extensions. It only helped them climb in the search results and become more visible. [Top 10%]

It has not had a direct impact on sales yet.

None of my boosts or super boosts have ever resulted in a sale. Without stats from Atom we'll never know. I've ran super boost and never seen my name on the first page after trying on various devices and different times.

I think it's just another way for Atom to keep domainers busy and make more money.

I've tried super boost about ten times. It definitely does, within a few days, move the name higher up in search results. It will depend on the competition on that keyword(s) whether it gets to the first page or not. Not always. The names got more views. That seemed to carry over even after the super boost period, but none of the names that I boosted have had sales.

May be if Atom gives a statistics about everyday keywords search by potential buyers, sellers can boost their respective domains the next day to show in the best possible position/page to get attention (Hoping potential buyer will return back within the same week multiple days)

I personally don't think their should be any boosts. It just weakens user experiences and favors the domainers who don't mind burning cash. Just a money grab by Atom.

I somewhat agree that boosts of any kind, anywhere, distort the user experience. They are of course part of almost every commercial thing, from placement on marketplaces like Amazon to where products are on supermarket shelves. and of course all advertising is sort of a boost.

It ultimately comes down to whether the potential buyer benefits from seeing something they would otherwise not have been presented.

The ideal way might be to somehow have a place that names could be effectively advertised, without altering the search results.

So is it just me? I've had 3 .coms pending for 8 days (submitted with a coin)

Note: I value the Atom platform, and Iโ€™m sharing this observation in the spirit of constructive feedback and continued improvement.
Were they AI tagged? It seems like if the AI doesn't tag it as a premium fit, it takes days, even weeks, to get approved if at all, though I have had one or two long length AI tagged names take a long time too. It seems like are relying heavily on the AI, I'm going to stop sending in non-ai tagged names, just wasting coins.

But the problem is Bob, that we're not selling USB-C cables or Pokemon cards. These are luxury digital properties with a premium price and an extremely specific and limited buyer type.

At some point you just need to believe that your domain is enough.

Or from the Atom 30 Points article:

โ€œA good domain sells itself.โ€

This largely appears to be the case with Sedo โ€” note the highlight and the sidebar.

However, as you mentioned, from a commercial standpoint, they may be less successful than Atom in terms of promoted sell-through rates, although this remains unknown to us as spectators.

yea, something is off at Atom lately. They are processing all Ai premium fit approvals almost immediately (with very high approval rates) and yet the manual ones are taking very long since they removed expert reviewers. Much longer than normal. It may be a staffing issue - or it may be a focus issue. I know last week they caught up on 3 mos worth of domain appeals - so perhaps that was the reviewers focus. Maybe this week they'll get back to the normal coin reviews ๐Ÿคž

Seriously? AI is running the show. why is that only obvious to me? Do you think a human pulled the plug on .now - no way. AI sales are on a recent tear (again) so Atom's algo reacts accordingly.

Ai is given high priority for sure. But I have had Ai Premium fit names rejected (and coins refunded) and have also had non Ai premium fit names accepted. So while Ai is def given priority - there are still adults in the room

Atom doesn't need adults to approve, reject domains or refund coins. If Atom actually had humans working on these fronts appeals wouldn't take months they'd be done in days at the most. Atom entire platform is designed to be run on AI so it's funny to think there's a couple guys or girls working night and day to catch up on appeals.

So you believe Ai took >3 months to go through the appeals? From my perspective when you see something taking that long, that's people - not Ai.
