Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Appeals are now at ~17 weeks, and counting O_o

Atom is finally starting to catch up on appeals. I had one rejection and one accepted on review today (both from Dec 2024).

Both my .now names from Dec 2024 rejected despite strong evaluations, single English words, and multibillion dollar global industries.

I assume your one accepted was .com and the rejected was .now? Hoping I'm wrong.

I'm seeing a lot of names being accepted for $2,495, with Gold tier you can price up to double the accepted price which would be $4990, but they now let you round it up to $4999 for these, nice!

Since the "Expert" Reviewer program was stopped, it seems the review quality feels less consistent, and review times seem significantly longer.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Note: I value the Atom platform, and Iโ€™m sharing this observation in the spirit of constructive feedback and continued improvement.

I'm actually finding just the opposite. Names are being approved almost instantaneously (at least when Ai says they are a good fit for Premium) and the approvals of my names make more sense now

I am finding both.

With .com with a high SH score, my experience in recent days is like yours. Often approved within the hour.

With other TLDs like .io, .ai, .net, .org, even if a high SH score, they seem quite slow, still waiting after a week on a number.

yes, I also agree with that. My non coms take forever. But that was the same back when they had expert reviewers so I didn't mention. Hopefully they are able to move the non coms along in a more expedient manner soon

Pending: 3 .io and 1 .com

So is it just me? I've had 3 .coms pending for 8 days (submitted with a coin)

Not just you, I've got a .com pending for a week.

So ai approvals are quick and human approvals are slow?

Thank you for your feedback. Our engineering team is currently looking into this issue. In the meantime, if you come across any specific domains where the TLD registration data appears incorrect, please share those examples with us via live chat. These reports are extremely helpful in identifying patterns and resolving the issue more quickly.
I've just provided Support with an example domain demonstrating the recurring issue. Atom's Tech Team is aware, and is actively working on improving the TLD count feature/bug.

Hi @Atom.com

With the manual expert review process discontinued, what is the current recommended setting for this?

I find it takes Ai 4-7 days before it identifies standard uploads as a "Premium Potential Fit ๐Ÿ”ฅ"
Pretty sure it used to be quicker at identifying them. In any event - thought I'd share my experience. Worth waiting a week before Premium submission so you can see if it labels your names as such. If so, you get the coin back if name is ultimately rejected.

However, only 27 domains were reviewed, and 90 are still pending review.

Does Lifestyle images do any good if we already have a logo? In the recommendations it shows Lifestyle images are not created for N number of domains and that it creates exposure.

What's best?
Add lifestyle images in addition to logo or better just Logo?

I was told when I joined lifestyle images are what are shown on certain ad networks (such as FB). So they told me to create them for better look/reach. This was ~12 mos ago - unsure if it's still valid

Atom has caught up on domain appeals through end of March now. Sadly, 6 of my 7 appeals were denied. But at least they caught up and are now <30 days
