Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

Small quantity. What are your atom domain scores?

Assuming a modest 1% STR, you might sell 1 name within 4 years...

Not sure what domain score is but this report may help you to get a picture. What do you think should one's like me have to wait 4 years or more?

I have patience. No problem

STR (sell through rate) varies widely depending on the quality of names and your skill as a domainer.

Without knowing the quality of names you have, I'll guess that you're a new investor with a novice skill level.

So I'd probably put you somewhere in the .01 - .015 STR category, meaning that with 26 premium names in your portfolio, you'd likely get one sale every 2.5 to 4 years.

Yes, I'm novice of course. Whenever I check the report ATOM provided I'm getting excited to see there are some not much VIEWS and shortlists my domains gets everyday. Moreover some repeat visits also.

How much views etc.. generally does a premium domain get?

I also have 100+ standard listing .

Standard names are just landers. You have to bring people to them.

For Premium, shortlists are not strongly correlative to sales. Views are questionable in this regard too (Atom has not stated one way or the other if they are correlative). Atom has stated 17 items that are correlative to sales. Read this

I got approved of 26 premium listing and it's almost a year but there hasn't been any sell or inquires. Have you often sell domains here? What's the average waiting time that a premium domain needs to sell at ATOM?
It's totally random. Last year there was a huge gap between sales, I sold one name in February, then 3 (!) names in October-November within 30-ish days. I couldn't believe it! Fast forward to 2025, I've already sold one domain in each month (so 4 in total), which is unbelievable. Sometimes you have to wait a year or more, sometimes multiple sales just happen within a short period. It's partly a numbers game (I have 100-ish domains + 20-ish Atom-registered domains), but it also depends on 1) the quality of your names, 2) the diversity of your names 3) the industry of your names (tech and AI is the king, but there are evergreen industries like beauty, health, money, etc.) and 4) sheer luck.

Just don't give up. If you have 26 names already on Atom.com, it means that you're doing something right. Now you have to refine your method and keep building your portfolio. Good luck! :)

I've just tested the new domain audio feature, and it's much better than I expected. I like the storytelling and that there are 4 distinct voices. Anyone else tried it?

25 Premium names sounds pretty low, given the fact that it's not that hard to get approved as Premium. As long as the name makes sense, it gets approved. That's my understanding based on my experience.
What I'm really interested in is how the Plus listings are doing, ATOM doesn't provide any stats and I haven't seen any feedback here either. Do you get any Plus sales at all?

Not yet although their Ai suggested that few of my plus listing might get premium approval potentiality so I used some coins and eventually they got approval. Having said that my observation is getting premium approval isn't hard than getting actual buyer's attention.

So far I’ve tried three voices only, except the british. The girl’s voice is kind of low, and the man voice is great, but I don’t know... I still prefer the girls
Last night, I tried generating one, the story is good ... until its incorrectly said the domain extension. My domain is .com, but it generated .ai .1 credit wasted.

Really appreciate your kind words and case study. I won't give up and keep buiding my porfolio.

And prior to that Atom was terrible for you. Goes to show... either your quality improved, their marketplace improved, or randomness kicked in. https://www.namepros.com/threads/report-completed-domain-name-sales-here.83628/post-9121186

@Atom.com

In the Offer Center it would be really nice if the Offer Amount in the column would update to the latest/highest Buyer Offer. That way, this section would be useful and up to date, rather than always displaying the first and often-outdated offer, thus forcing you to click on each transaction to view the actual current Offer Amount.

Yep, it was really bad. 2022: no sales, 2023: one sale (but it was an Atom-registered name). 2024: 4 and half (installments stopped for one domain but this same domain was sold later that year :) ), 2025: 4 sales so far.
I would say their marketplace improved + total randomness :)

An interesting fellow complaining to Atom that his standard listing can't be found on a Premium marketplace. And Atom was actually kind enough to respond - and yet he's still griping. I'm having trouble seeing his pov. Anyone else?

I checked the domain, and it doesn’t have the Plus promotion either. It’s not listed on the Sapphire marketplace.

I suggested that he submit the domain name for the premium listing and take advantage of the promotion that Premium domains receive.

Honestly exact match should appear first regardless of plus, standard or premium. Its not like they'll ever be more than 2 or 3.

When it comes to exact match I can't ever recall Atom doing things the way any common sense would lead one to think.

Oh no, he doesn't want to do that. He wants his name to be listed #1 and he wants it to happen while his name is Standard and he's paying 7.5% commission. He says anything else than this is "bad-faith" and unethical :xf.rolleyes: This guy is something else. He's so dug into his belief, I'm just wondering if I'm missing something - perhaps someone else gets his pov (cause I sure don't)

PSA >:(

I just bought a name from Atom Auctions that was NOT premium. Buyers are unable to sort by Premium in Atom Auctions and as such, I mistakenly bought a STANDARD listing. I would've never bought this name had there been a filter function to identify which names are premium and which are standard. I typed the name into the URL and it showed on Atom so I thought, mistakenly, it was Premium. It's my fault for not checking more carefully - so this public service announcement is meant for everyone else - make sure to DOUBLE CHECK before buying names at Atom Auctions if you want them to be Premium. Many are not - and @Atom.com does not allow you to filter away the ones that aren't.

Hopefully they can add this functionality so others don't waste money buying standard names when they intended to buy Premium. For clarity - this feature exists within the Wholesale marketplace so it's not like they can't easily toggle it on for Auctions.
This happened to me, but luckily it was pretty much instantly accepted as premium.

So how do you mitigate the fact that someone pays 25-30% commission to be listed first and yet someone else drops ahead of them with their 7.5% commission? What is the extra commission for then? Wouldn't this just create weird incentives (no point in paying more and becoming Premium... I'll just stay as Standard and show #1). Oh and I'll also take advantage of all the marketing dollars Atom spends to acquire buyers and market to them on my behalf. Doesn't sound like a sustainable business model to me
