I read a interesting blog post about registering typos of your URL to boost traffic:
Register typo domains to increase site traffic

According to a recent study, some sites can increase their traffic by 1% simply by registering “wwwdomain.com” to redirect typo-prone visitors “www.domain.com.”

This may not seem like a lot, but even for a site that gets 1,000 visitors per day, this traffic adds up. Take 10 extra visitors per day and multiply by 365, you get 3650. Assume a domain costs $10 and divide that number of 3650, and you’ll realize that you’re paying less than a quarter of a cent ($0.0027) per visitor!

What do you guys think about this? My site gets about 500 visits per day and this looks like an interesting way to get more visitors. It at least looks like it's worth trying.

It's not just the typos, you can also set wildcard DNS on your domains to capture ww.domain.com or wwww.domain.com etc :)

If you have 500 visits per day I think it makes sense to make at least one defensive registration. Make you do a HTTP/301 redirect to your main site.

Well I firmly believe that typo domains are a good investment only when you choose a good typo domain.I have a friend that makes a killing with only typo domains.

Talk about pumpers and dumpers.

The domain blogs are currently all agog over .co.

Like Yogi Berra once said: It's deja vu all over again.

I remember the buzz about .cm, not even a year ago.

Then POOF went the registrar, up in flames.

Where are all the pumpers now?

Off to the next big thing...
