Are Some Domainers Rude To Potential Buyers?

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I have made attempts a few times to inquire about some domains and what I get is a cold "no response" after they read the email.

I feel this is rude and does not speak good of these people. I can say this has happened more than I can ever imagine. They do not respond to simple "how much" or "is xyz domain name for sale"?

A while back a domain name that I forgot to buy on closeout had just hit the account of this guy when I emailed him to inquire for a possible sale. He read it and refused to reply.

Courtesy demand that a simple "no" or "yes" should follow an inquiry but never in the case of these people. They would prefer to not to respond to that email.

Their reason for this is not even know. Maybe they already too rich or feel too proud but the issue I have with attitude like this is that it disgust me.

Oh well guys, it's all good if you feel everyone should be ignored.

Yes.. And never responds back.. Exactly the same message everytime except for the domain name, asks for a price but never responds or anything. His e-mail also does not show up anything on googling
Yes, that is one of them. Just confirmed:)

Hi

to categorize the recipient of an unsolicited email as "being rude", because "the software said they read it", is an undeserved characterization of that individual.

unless you were physically there to verify that they actually opened the email and "read it", then it's only an assumption that they read it.

and... even if they did read it, to not respond to an expected solicitation, is and shall always remain.... their prerogative.

maybe if you don't anticipate a response, then your feelings won't get hurt.

this is a business and everybody that participates in it, may not be willing to or even be concerned with, how you feel about the outcome, if and when you reach out to them.

sorry, but those are the cold facts, as they exist.

imo....

I totally agree, a lot of people are rude and do not even notice they are doing it. Even though some of them probably get as many as 5 emails a week about a certain domain, they should be grateful that so many people want it. It literally only takes about three seconds to reply and some people feel it's an inconvenience to do that (which is unfair for them to be that way in my opinion).

Not responding to an inquiry is RUDE... no matter what their offer might be. I have tabled my offer and if he doesn't reply me either, I can tell him off.

it's not rude if it's a fishing scam, harvesting email addresses,

I noticed some people get mad if it's in a thread and they say offers only. Then people PM for price. I usually make an offer when I see those threads and if they reply they are rude and angry if they think the offer is too low (usually because they over-value their domain name). But, yeah no excuse for no response.

I have to agree with the general consensus, serious buyers tend to initiate contact with an offer, rather than a question of how much.

On the buying side, I was trying to acquire a 1 word .com for a client, it was clearly marked for sale, first mail I sent I left my information and asked if we could discuss the domain over a brief telephone call, the mail was oepened few times with no response. I then followed up two weeks later and tabled a 6 figure offer on the clients behalf. They ignored both mails.

Eventually the client moved on and acquired an alternative domain. Do I think they were foolish to ignore the mails and not send a response? Absolutely, but I'm not going to get annoyed or lose any sleep over it. At the end of the day it's their domain, and their business how they deal with inquiries.

look at it from another perspective:

when you get solicitation emails for seo, web design, magazine subscriptions, viagra pills, etc, etc, do you open them and respond to each one.

or do you just delete them?

whatever you do in those situations, whether you read some, ignore others

when you decide not to respond to those emails, are you being rude to the senders of those emails?

imo....

This is only possibly true if as a buyer that is the only domain I want or is suitable to me. If there are several or more possible domains that would suit my website/project/company name then of course I'm not going to make a good offer on each one due to the risk of multiple acceptances.

I accept your point that each inquiry is different, but I'm just sharing my own experience. Every inbound sale I've closed has had an opening offer attached.

One just has top leave people to be whatever they want to be and stay focused on the course that brings results.
