Hey guys and gals,

I bought my FIRST dropped domain lol. I just wanted to know if .net's were still holding their value? I know .info and .orgs are really dropping hard, so wanted to see whats up with .nets

I bought NewsSites.net

Cheers!

Liquid Chips have shot up recently in the last few months with the Chinese market. Obviously .com reigns supreme.

Did you know that domain was adsense banned before you bought it?

I wouldn't say worthless, just more limited resell/revenue options would probably be a better way to look at it. Probably depends on what you're plans with it were.

I have checked a bunch of sites, and most say its not banned ? Hmm

Hopefully the ones I listed are in error. If not there is always the appeal process to get it lifted.

Park it at Bodis and see what tier it uses.

Personally, I stay away from two-words .NET names if the number of taken extensions is less than 30, for the same keyword(s). Decent ones seems very hard to sell at the aftermarket.

I will drop most of my two-world .NET names this year. I've gotten zero requests for them the last two years.

LLLL.net chips are (as you know) valuable, but I think it's impossible to snap them without using a snap service / snap auction?!

I really don't know about LlllLllll.net, however I love LLL.net! Yes, LLL.net is holding and moving up in value!

.nets have lost some value since new gtlds were introduced. .net was basically second option to .com but all ngtlds togather tried to take its position then,
Now again after Chinese interference .Net domains are on rise again
However two words .net don't have any value in current market
One word and shorter strings of 4 or less letter and numerical .nets are having good value for sure,
And in coming days future seems bright for short and dictionary domains in .net as its second best after .com

What is the floor price for western premium LLLL.net?

It depends on the term in .net. If the term is strong, developed in .com, and taken in many ccTLDs and gTLDs, then it can be a good alternative for an end-user if .net makes sense.

However, I do feel that .net is getting weaker. Over the past two years, I have let expire what few .nets I had-and now only have but a few.

I have sold some .Nets in the last couple years but with the launch of new TLDs I feel their value has been impacted. .Net sales for even high-search volume keywords have declined as .Net used to be the best alternative to .COM - now just one of hundreds of alternatives. One travel-related .Net I sold several months ago for low $XXX the .COM is for sale for $40k. But I would prefer .Net over any new TLD.

premium 1 word .net names and 2-4 character still have good value. But depends on the name and if it fits the extension.

We acquired a few .net domains last year and are presenting considering acquiring a few other .net domains.

Purchased for reg fees and personally will only pay reg fee for a .net.

One .net was the name match of a nice .com we have so why not own 'em both?

With so many .com names unavailable or very high priced why not offer the .net version at a reasonable price risking just a reg fee?

This was a name we considered acquiring several times over the years though too pricey, yet recently it was dropped, not purchased via auctions, by drop list buyers and eventually tossed back to the sea of reg fee .net domains.

Likely their overall value has been somewhat compromised by the variety of new extension choices.

I recently let go a .Net that I once received a high $XXX offer on when I was a newbie but did not realize at the time how difficult selling a .Net really is. Up until a couple years ago, you basically had .COM and .Net as a second choice if the .COM was priced in the stratosphere (or .Org for nonprofits). Now you have .COM and a thousand other choices (though .Net still has more public recognition than the new TLDs).

It is still common that brandable .COM domains can receive offers even when the .Net is available for reg fee - just happened in the last few days. End users want the .COM.
