.US domains.US domains
My experience is not good with .name, but i only have 3 .name domains, and would reg again if i find some which in .com would be worth over $100k and suits the name extension

Well, it all depends what you plan to do with it.

If it would make a nice name for a website you are designing, then by all means use it.

If you're looking to flip it for a good profit, think twice. A lot of strong one-word keywords are available in the .name extension. Why is that? Because domainers haven't had much success selling domains with that extension.

(Any TLD with strong keywords unregistered is a risky investment; that applies, for example, to .ws and .cc, extensions which enjoyed some popularity among domainers not that long ago.)

But if you're not spending a substantial amount of money, and your expectations are reasonable, don't be afraid to put a toe into the water.

There are a few .name hacks I'd pay reg. fee for:

* My.name
* Baby.name
* Bad.name
* Business.name
* Family.name
* WhatsYour.name

If any of these are available, someone let me know and I'll be sure to pounce on it.

bad resell

I had some decent .name in the past that I could not flip. If you are going to develop the domain go ahead. It can make for a catchy website address.

Any extension can draw traffic with proper content, marketing and design. With that said, if you plan on developing this ".name" go for it. However, on the "after-market," many people don't have faith in this extension b/c of its so-called "awkwardness" and lack of depth among your avg. internet user.

Well the only one which I would like to register is my own family name. However, I must confess that I recently couldn't resist buying a .name which was just dropping: it is the family name of the Prime Minister of a large country which I visit often, and I suspect some of his fellow citizens would really like to have it (moreover, it has some traffic) - registered in all extensions. I felt I shouldn't buy it, since it was a .name, but it was too tempting!!

(dot) name is the worst extension :imho:

I never owe any name domains and wont be regging any.
You can check the sales report.. I dont see any good sales also
But its my view...

Having ".name" on the end of your domain name is like living in a town called "Address", or naming your baby "Firstname Lastname". It's confusing a class with an instance of the class, to use object-oriented language.

Maybe ".name" is supposed to refer to people's names rather than domain names - but even then, my website is about a person (me), not about my name.

You should develop it than just park it. Same goes for other stupid extensions like .info, .tel, .asia...

-Disclosure, i have .info and .asia domains. :D

Dont waste your money with .name unless its a good domain hack such as Domain.Name but all the good .name domain hacks were taken years ago anyway.

Please, don't lump .info with "stupid" extensions - .info is definitely in a different league, even if I agree that it has not yet fulfilled its potential.
