Are Kids Popular School Slang Worth Using Domains On? Your Opinions especially for Non Coms Should I Return the Org?

I just saw some terms that I never heard of before that are apparently School Kids (11-18) popular slang. I wonder if these terms which are not available as Coms or Net but sometimes available as orgs and various other externsions should be registered or ignored because the audience are kids with no money. Apparently 6-7 is a popular kids term so I spent $1.99 on 6-7.Life, 6-7.xyz $1.99 and $9.99 on 6-7.org.

"6-7

Definition: "6-7" is less of meaningful phrase than a meaningless response.

Origin: 6-7 is derived from the song "Doot Doot," released by rapper Skrilla in December 2024. In the song, Skrilla sings, "The way that switch, I know he dyin'. 6-7. I just bipped right on the highway." According to Know Your Meme, a database for memes and internet slang, some people say the "6-7" in the song is in reference to 67th Street, perhaps in Philadelphia, where the rapper is from. But Skrilla had not confirmed the numbers' meaning as of Sept. 4." - Yahoo

I myself don't listen to rap at all but what is your opinion on registering kids slang? Is this an utter waste of money because kids have limited money?. Is there an adult market for kids slang domains? Should I return the .org to Godaddy.?The other $2 ones are chump change so I'll hold on for the year.

6-7.com has some value, just based on the format.

I can't see value in any other extensions.

You are probably better off focusing on a handful of better domains than all these cheap regs.

A bunch of cheap regs collectively add up to a decent amount of money.

So just to reterate unless a School Slang Term is Registered as a .COM only it will have no resale value? Thanks. I will follow what you and others (if there are more replies) have to say.

It depends how popular the term is in general.

There are a lot of popular terms used by younger people like vibe, aura, bet, etc.

All those are good because the terms are good.

"67" is worth it in any decent extension. With a hyphen, not so much.

Popular terms have value because they have big pools of potential buyers aka more demand than supply.

I would not be regging "skibidi rizz" in every extension because kids use it.

Great point. I have avoided hyphens for years. Honestly it never occured to me to use 67 which it should have instead though I doubt that would been available.

Any NN is going to be taken in every decent extension. That is just how supply and demand works.

Basically not every unregistered domain is going to be garbage, but the vast majority are.

The internet has been around for 30+ years now. There are hundreds of millions of registered domains.

Unless there is some brand new field, term, or something newsworthy, there are not that many good domains sitting there waiting to be registered.

I think you would be better off looking at options like @GoDaddy closeouts. You can get decent domains from $5 - $50.

It's way easier to look at a list of domains and pick out the gems than come up with random domains to register.

Today it's "lit", tomorrow it's lame.

Buy names that outlast the hype game.

NEVER buy hyphens.

I agree on the hyphens and today it's lit- lol. I just didn't have enough self control once I saw it listed with a hyphen to resist even though I stopped with hyphens a decade or so ago.

You are probably correct. I am a sucker for these $2 domains but I probably won't renew them.

IMO, unless you are familiar with a term or trend, investing around it is a bad strategy. You might strike gold every once in a while but its not sustainable. Stick to what you know instead of chasing. You'll always feel behind and prob will be. Personally, I think 6-7 has no value other than scarcity and brevity (even assuming its a "popular" term which its not). And even if it were popular among kids 11-18, thats not a demographic that drives real domain value.

Which is why I asked the question to get the answers! Thank you!

You might get 'Starmer 6-7' if you're quick. :xf.grin:
