Are Free Reg Names a Good Idea?

I have just got 3 free names vistatheme and vistapro are two of them the extention is not good as you can imagine so was this a good idea?

Also it asked for a site to be linked to and I linked both to vistapic.com which is parked at sedo. Was this the right thing to do? will it harm vistapic.com in anyway?

Lets just say vistapro.com is taken I get vistapro.bb for example is it worth it??

Yes I know if its free then of corse its worth it but will it get any traffic?

Sedo rules do not allow that:

I suggest you hold off on registering domains and read and post questions on here for a while until you learn the ins and outs of the domain business a little better. Rushing in will just cost you a fortune in domain names that you'll let drop this time next year and if your Sedo/DS/Goldkey/etc account is terminated they won't let you signup again later.

Advertising websites on Yahoo chat is not only against the rules of Yahoo chat, but also against the rules of Sedo. Advertising a URL on a chatroom is not "natural traffic".

I pm'd sedo "mara" here at namepros the same question last week.The answer was it is best to put A link to your "offer page" in your signature.Putting your parked page in signature will be unnatural traffic.Look in my signature.You can do that.

if it is a .tk extention i would delete it cause .tk is a waist of time now. to many ad's noone will wanna buy it and u wont get prolly no traffic. best of luck

try .com.ru net.ru org.ru or pp.ru but it's hard thing to get :D
or why don't you try co.nr ? they offer free subdomain
