Morning,

How are your domain sales doing this year?

I’ve been actively trying to sell several domains by reaching out to companies that currently use inferior or longer versions. I offered them a premium .com upgrade for as low as $100, but had no takers.
Recently, I also pitched Vaktsina.com to hundreds of vaccine russian manufacturers. Not a single bite - not even from AstraZeneca, which is still operating in russia despite the sanctions. By the way, PepsiCo and Mars (US companies) are still active in russia.

This leads me to believe that domaining today is largely a waste of time. It feels like it generates nothing but renewal fees. I'm starting to think most reported high-value sales (except maybe outliers like ai.com) are either money laundering or viral marketing.

I suspect many sales reports are fake, designed to trick us into spending money on keeping our portfolios alive. Who are these people supposedly making these sales? They aren't on the forums, they aren't on social media - they don’t seem to exist. It all feels like a setup.

Has anyone actually closed an outbound deal recently, or are we just fueling the registries and dropcatch?
