yea you're right - apple just created another pc ... and their ipod is just another music player ... what was i thinking? apple getting into the mobile phone market, no biggie.

Yeah i was thinking that aswell, all though many of the other iphones names in other extension dont belong to apple. They might have a bulk purchase of the names

Just cause they are the industry leader of MP3 players doesn't make an entry in to another industry some kid of amazing thing for the .MOBI extension. It's not even as if they have mentioned anything to do with the .MOBI, they are not even one of the extensions 'Sponsors'.

This is a domain forum, not a gadget forum.

A market leading mobile phone company making .MOBI the default extension on their phones WOULD BE AN ISSUE WORTH POSTING ABOUT.

's' or not... if 'iPhone' is a trademark, it is trademarked.

If You went to register a trademark for 'iphones' then it would be too similar to 'iphone' and it would be rejected.

Jiblob is right, S or no S, it's to deceptively similar to the name. I had trademarked a name myself not too long ago-myself having some experience with TMing. If there is a good history of usuage of the name-well before they trademarked that name, you may stand a chance. Your chances don't look good at this stage!

This is just another ROCKR or SLVR. A huge idea, but will turn out horribly. The design may be useful or tasteful, but all that really matters is what is inside and how well it works for the end user.

I'm getting this phone when it comes out. I'm also doing some major investing in apple in the following weeks. It's one of the thinnest smart phones I've seen aswell which is a big deal for me.
