Apple has renamed their iPhone to iTouch Mobile in response to a recent lawsuit by Cisco:

This is what I found.. the story previously reported on Digg and Newsvine as coming from AP has now been reported to be a spoof:

Actually, it was taken.. I checked before I reported it.. registered to Domains by Proxy. Had no idea if that might not be Apple or not.

I think Apple should have tried in court, they could of had a chance. Lets hope this is a hoax.

On top of that, itouch is MNC with presence in 25 countries http://www.itouch.co.uk/ , yes you are right, they are right into mobile industry too.

I read somewhere online today that Cisco doesn't actually hold a trademark on iPhone for some reason.. just skimmed it. Found it on Digg as usual. Means Apple could keep the iPhone name (which I imagine will happen anyway).

Watch them pick the name 'iCell' or something like it. Sounds better than iTouch. :p

It was revealed a hoax by the site posted up in this thread and the original source was removed and the member banned. That guy made a nice big fuss didnt he :hehe:

They already have iChat, so no TM issues there.
