Anyone been assigned the registrar HJLINNEN.com – via POOL.com (warning Rant post).

I'm fairly new too Pool, but after backordering a domain, I must say I'm not particularly impressed..!!

After successfully backordering/paying for my domain name, I received little (or NO) response from Pool with how to take control of my newly acclaimed domain. I waited a week or more then contacted their service department to enquire how one can access my name. A few days later they responded with saying they have assigned my name to a registrar called Hjlinnen and I was to wait their response with my account details. After a frustrating five days later the registrar emailed me to confirm my account username and password.

I am used to assigning domains across a few registrar's but this has to be the most un-user friendly control panel ever.., most of the links don't work, it's appears impossible to amend your MX and Cname details and to top it off, they do not respond to any emails requesting help..!

Is this normal practice for Pool.?

Unfortunately some of the registrars used by Pool are not customer-friendly. I'm lucky almost all my catches are via Snapnames. They try to make things easier by integrating your names within the common website.in interface, otherwise I would have accounts with 20 more registrars.

Even from Snap (As I've publicly noted before) I sometimes end up with registrars completely in German, and/or with a domain control panel that has a whopping 3 buttons, 2 of which don't work!
I guess that's the chance you take, but 60 days after a snap-buying-binge I always start to hate life just a little bit

I had one a domain with HJLinnen and tried tp transferr it out after 60 days.
I emailed them and asked for the auth code.
They said "What is an auth code?, just transfer it to whatever registrar you want."
I attempted a transfer, without a transfer code.
After 3 more emails, they finally coughed up the auth code.
