I got a rash a couple days ago... I have no idea what it was from.

It's almost all gone now... but one thing's killing me. Whenever my body heats up, my back, and other parts of my arms just starts stinging for no reason. I'm not even touching it... but it stings like hell. What should I do? Some times it stings so much I'm basically on the floor rolling around trying to 'itch' it.

Thanks guys... I'm getting closer and closer to finding out what it is.

So far, the closest I've got to was Shingles and fibromyalgia.

My sister has fibromyalgia and I have never seen
a rash.
However shingles does cause a rash according to my
neighbour lady. She also said they can be quite painful...
Compare your symptoms here for shingles
(maybe it's not that)

But for any itch or rash I've ever had, calamine lotion is the best.

This is just silly lpxxfaintxx, you shouldn't use the internet to self diagnose problems like this. A rash can be a sign of many things. As an extreme example you have small things like sore throats that can be cancer, headaches etc...

Why not just go to the doctors? (or as iNod said, a dermatologists).

Oh my word. What a funny thread.

Sounds like eczema brought on by cold dry winter air. Hot water, sweat, etc makes it itch and sometimes sting.

Go buy some Eucerin and slap it on. Good to go... unless it's cancer.

You know, that's quite odd.

Only people who have had chicken pox can get shingles.

I've never had the chicken pox yet!

I sure hope this isn't shingles though... I'd hate to walk around saying, "I have shingles... it's a herpes virus!"

You will have pain and a rash. The pain usually comes a few days before the rash.

In my case, the pain started AFTER the rash.

Try seeing if WebMd.com is any help. They have stuff on almost everything there.

I've taken several advanced medical and physiology courses, but as everyone else said, a proper diagnosis from a pro is needed. From what you describe it could be an allergic reaction, scarlet fever, or just paranoia :) Prickly heat powder and calamine lotion work well if the doctor says it's nothing serious, but some rashes.

My doc thinks I may have fibro.
My skin hurts sometimes but not as you describe,
not really a burning sensation in my case.

What you describe sounds more dermatological.
Eczema related possibly or reaction to some food/surrounding possibly?
Better to get it checked out.

A warning about visiting WebMD...

If you are the worrying stressful type when it comes to illness, DON'T GO THERE.

If you weren't convinced you were dying before you went -- you will be after. My last visit resulted in having symptoms of several major life threatening issues that night. :red:

When in doubt, go see a real doctor.

lol

i was just reading the other day that people who surf the net to diagnose their illness are often misguided and going to a "normal" doctor is much better than vivisting any kinda site :)
