Does anyone know of an app that will let you do your own design and which grabs and embeds videos in a similar way to ChannelMe's tools?

I've played around with ChannelMe's tools but find they are much too limiting in the way they are geared to social communities. I love their GRAB bookmarking feature, which lets you pull YouTube videos straight into your website design, and I like their promise to share ad revenue. But I hate the ChannelMe cluttered, clunky look and the inability to categorise videos - you really are locked into "My Favourite" categorisations of clips. I'd rather have a simple, clean look like Sedona.tv, and I also want to be able to categorise thousands of videos by menu and sub-menu.

Any suggestions, anyone?

Entirely depends on how much money you want to spend.

If zero, I would say you should just stick with ME.tv tools.

I am not sure what your tone is, but what I said was the truth. If you want a robust script that gives you decent control over look and feel, then you will not get it for free.

Decent scripts start at $35 (Decent is relative) and go way higher then that for the best scripts.

The only other alternative is to use a CMS like e107 (Really nice one that has features built in). The downside to a CMS is that you will need to modify templates to get the look you want. Not a big deal, but it takes time. In some I have tried, it takes a lot of time.

Aside from that, there is NO other free hosting like what me.tv tools has. (To my knowledge)

You can use something like the google apps services to do your hosting, but the templates are limiting, and I don't have nearly the control over the site like I do on Me.tv tools.

So yes, if you don't want to spend money, then there is no me.tv tools with free hosting, that you can use.
