I'm going to make a long story short here.

I registered some domains with anwerable.com and two days later I recieved an e-mail saying that because of fraud protection they needed me to fax them a copy of my credit card front and back plus a copy of my drivers license and a statement saying I authorized the charge.

Well, after not getting through to support I decided not to send those things in. So answerable.com released the names and they were free for anyone to register.

Now two days later they have charge my credit card for those domain names. I called them and they said that my account has been credited for those purchases.

So now I am talking to some guy in India who wants me to create a support ticket to try and get my money back.

This is just absurd. To anyone thinking about using answerable, I say, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

After getting disconnected and finally getting through to someone in India, I have been informed that I should recieve a refund in 15 days.

So, according to them, my credit card charge could have been a fraud so they dropped the names and yet after dropping the names they charged my credit card.

So I end up with no names and a charge to my credit card.

I will never use answerable.com again.

If they canceled the transaction, the credit card should not have been billed, period.

No, you did not understand the very basic rule.

With every registrar, if you make a transaction, the CC payment gateway bills your CC during your initial purchase, whether the transaction is going to be canceled or not. You did not get this point. Also, that transaction will be included in your CC bill.

At a later date, if you request a refund (or) if the registrar issues a refund for that transaction, then you will see the transaction reversed in your CC statement.

It happens commonly with almost every registrar.

I ordered a bunch of .asia names from GoDaddy, and my CC was billed for $300+ for those names. Those transactions were included in my CC bill. Unfortunately the .ASIA names that I registered at GoDaddy are reserved names, and GoDaddy issued a full refund to my CC.

At a later date, they have issued the refund, and which was also included in my CC statement.

So definitely in your CC statement, you will see a charge for your initial purchase.

After they issue the refund, you will also see the refund in your CC statement.

YOU seem to missing the point. They wanted more information to approve the transaction which I did not supply because of their poor customer support. Two days after dropping the domain names my credit card was charged. That is just absurd.

They dropped the domains because they were not willing to accept payment without all the documents they requested yet they felt free to bill me anyway later.

If you want to keep going around in circles that is fine with me. Just keeps the thread bumped and lets people see what they might have to deal with if they register a name with this crappy company.

No, I did not want to confuse you, or want to bump this thread with unwanted info.

If they charged you ** AFTER ** dropping the domain names, then your argument is correct.

Have you verified your CC bill for the transaction date? If the CC bill shows the exact transaction date, then understand your CC was charged by them **BEFORE** dropping the domain names. This is common.

If your CC statement shows different date other than the date of your actual transaction, then your argument is correct.

I am not linked with Answerable.com or any other registrars. I just wanted to share my views on this matter. That's all.

Good luck.
