I won the auction at Namejet and I paid the money (100$) from my credit card.

Now I got e-mail that my account is disabled and MONEY İS NOT REFUNDED BACK TO MY CREDIT CARD.

On their web site it says that to able to open disabled accounts you have to send these files

· copy of the front and back of the credit card on file for your account with us.

· A copy of the first page of your paper credit card statement showing the matching name/address for your credit card.

· A copy of the account holder's COLOR photo identification that matches the name on the credit card, such as a passport or other government issued document with a picture.

· A completed and signed copy of the Verified Bidder Form. This form authorizes NameJet to charge your credit card for domains purchased in your account.

I am using Internet almost 20 years and same thing happened to me before only once.

Couple of years ago I was playing Diablo 3. I wanted to buy virtual gold. I paid 100$ to chienese website. They didnt give me gold and they asked for credit card documents etc. I couldnt get the money back.

Are you giving your CC & ID information to websites. This is very very dangerous. Anyone can act as like you and they can do whatever they want with your account.

This is not acceptable.

What you think?

Don't you have to be a verified bidder to participate in auctions in the first place ?

I stopped giving my IDs to anyone after some guy from south of the border started applying for things in Texas, like apartments & mortgages, using my name.

This is exactly the Topic i was about to post here :)

Thanks very much for raising this issue.
Firstly, The marketplaces who are asking your Creditcard details at the time of registration on their website is totally illogical to me at first instance and it seems like they have something creepy to do in future for sure.
Secondly, these Marketplaces fail to attract much users to their site because many users feel unsafe to provide their financial credentials just for the sakenof registering on these marketplaces.
Thirdly if you analyze, the marketplaces who are flexible and do not have these unnecessary requirements like asking for credit card details etc etc..are working far far better than those who have lot of pre conditions merely to register.

I think there has to be some sort of Centralised monitoring board to keep a check on these fraud marketplaces and the users should refrain themselves from revealing their financials until and unless it is too necessary.
This is the reason marketplaces like NamePros and Flippa are doing good compared to lot of other marketplaces in the same segment and this only because they are customised according to users benefit and maintaining customers privacy & integrity.

I still do not understand why anyone is required to become a Verified bidder after making the Payment .!!!!
The verification should have initiated before he/she makes the payment.

This is totally a case of fraud and should be reported.
