Am I going to be banned from Adsense?

I have to confirm my account before I can collect the money in my account (quite a bit). So I'm waiting on the letter I'm supposed to be getting from them before I can do that.

So let's say I was surfing my own site and accidently clicked on one of the ads (let's say the ad was so intriguing that I completely forgot it was my own adsense)

So my question is, what are the chances google will pick up on this? If they do, since I've never done this before, will g~oogle be sympathetic or is my money doomed?

Thanks,
Jorge

The rules say don't repeatedly click on your own ads, I think you'll be fine.

Yeah. I did that once and sent the a email. Chances are they wont do anything just discredit the click.

Just once, not a big deal.
They only record multiple clicks from single or similar IP. They even cannot tell the IP is the site owner's if you just clicked once. I tested once by click my own adsense when I finished integration. But just once.

Send them a email saying what happeded.

But GOSH DARNIT...

Do NOT click your own ads.

OP, I know it was an accident. Chances are Google will just discredit the click, but if they do ban you, emailing might help, but I know of only 1 person who convinced Google of anything through email.

I had previously accidently clicked on my own ads once or twice. They really dont pick it up unless you click like 200 time in 5 minutes. 99.99% you will be safe. And if you do get banned then there is always Yahoo! ;)

I have clicked my own ad by mistake and dispatched them a email as soon as i did to tell them about it. Of couse the click showed up in my adsense sector but the click registered as $0.00 they emailed me back saying thatnks and that adsense had removed the click.

So a email is the way to go if you do click by accedent im not wanting to be banned.

Also shashank_re if you have been banned the only way to reapply is by emailign them saying your sorry. They will reject any new application you make.

Regards

How to mail them?i.e. what is there email ID?

Is Yahoo! having any program similar to adsense?

i believe google states you should type in the url address of an adsense ad instead of clicking. I've clicked on my own ads before, not out of fraud, but the ad/site looked really intriguing, one click...no, i don't think you'll be banned, cuz i don't think they'll count it.

You should write to them confessing that you have clicked your own ad which is against their TOS. You should be polite and honest, you should point out the rectification steps that you are going to take to prevent this from happening again. Just write to them once explaining everything.

Best of Luck! :)

c'mon, if the ad is really so interesting, why don't you just crab the url from frame source (right click ;) ) instead of clicking on it and risking your account?

Indeed!
Not only because that's what the TOS says, but it's also the RIGHT thing to do!

I saw this from other forum and would like to share with all of you, but don't know whether this has been post before or not.

If you adding your adsense code and want to test whether adsense ads is display properly on your testing site and to prevent invalid clicks from being generated on pages where you'd like to do some testing, please add this code ": google_adtest='on' ; with a semi-colon added on the end, as each line of the AdSense Code also ends in a semicolon.

Hope this helps!

I can't log into my adsense account. I just got my confirmation letter too, I was going to be able to cash out. I hope this doesn't mean I'm banned. Jeeze, one stupid mistake. What was I thinking?

Does the email says you are banned? Something like this...?

It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on
the Google ads on your site(s). We have therefore disabled your Google
AdSense account. Please understand that this step was taken in an
effort to protect the interest of the AdWords advertisers.

A publisher's site may not have invalid clicks on any ad(s), including
but not limited to clicks generated by a publisher on his own web
pages, clicks generated through the use of robots, automated clicking
tools, or any other deceptive software.

Practices such as these are in violation of the Google AdSense Terms
and Conditions and program polices, which can be viewed at:

https://www.google.com/adsense/localized-terms?hl=en_US
https://www.google.com/adsense/policies?hl=en_US

Publishers disabled for invalid click activity are not allowed further
participation in AdSense and do not receive any further payment. The
earnings on your account will be properly returned to the affected
advertisers.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

The right thing to do? I don't know about that, if you sincerely are interested in the ad then you click it, isnt that what advertisement is all about?... I don't see people copying and pasting the URL's from ads displayed on my sites lol... Just a thought that's all... Although I do think you should avoid clicking your own ads even though you are interested, to avoid being banned.
