GEEZ..... I just picked up another name from someone and it is reg'd at a GD reseller. You can always tell by the cookie cut template. Any ways I go to sign-up so I can do the transfere and of course my name and 3 others are taken. It isnt someone else has them , but I do with other GD resellers. So, I had to make yet another name....GROAN...

Why can't you use same name with each reg?
Is there a trick or work around? I did try to use the codes in GD, but it rejected them.

Thanks,
RickyG

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Nope, for some reason they make them independant from each other, which is a shame. It would be a lot better if they were linked, because then you could push back to GoDaddy for free. :(

I would be happy to be able to use same user name with each reseller. Getting tougher each time I have a new reg to tend with...

Thanks for your reply,

Yes ,it is annoying at times ,but not unique to WildWestDomain resellers
It is because the database of Usernames is used across the
whole WWD Network , But doesn't allow logon from another site
Should be modified to at least allow push across the network

Directi allows this with their resellers
Unique logon details and sites but can push to other resellers

With the problem of Logon names and remembering them

One way is to create username as part of a series

A few years ago I was able to login to a GD reseller account directly from GD and push the domains to a GD account, because the reseller had crashed down in flames and there was no website available. I tried to help other clients from that fallen company so they could do the same and they were unsuccesful, so I guess I was lucky or maybe I was the last one to use the backdoor before it was closed.

So what's the best solution for selling domians from a reseller site? I suppose reseller account have to be cut off from each other in order for each reseller to keep it's own customers.

I have a reseller site, happy with the whole thing EXCEPT reselling my domains! Would it be more appealing to a buyer to offer to tranfer to GoDaddy/RegisterFly/Enom prior to pushing? This gives 1 more year, increases the selling price most likely, but is it a better option from a buyer's perspective?

As a buyer, I would rather go through the hassle, then have to add on an additional year of regristation cost onto the domain, but that is just me.

I can keep up with each register...it is the "have to make a new name" that kills me. They are independant and we should be able to use the same user name, if avail. Sooner or later I could end up with a dozen user names.

What can I say, I get confused easily.

From a coder's point of view, isn't it easier to set all the users into one database?

Because the resellers have to connect back to godaddy's database, hence logically it should be easier for all the accounts to be on that server as well.

I am ok with that......
One name, that is what I am looking for.
