Can anyone recommend a good domain reseller. I' m currently with WWD GoDaddy and have been with them for 10 years. Financially this has been my worst year with the GoDaddy reseller program so I'm looking to move. For years we resellers had to live with being undercut with prices by GoDaddy and watching them steal our customers. However now I've come to find out that WWD is also stealing our customers by undercutting the resellers in terms of pricing. I contacted my reseller agent and ask about the low prices offered by http://www.maddogdomains.com/ . How can that reseller offer domains at 1.25 when my lowest sell rate is 8.99? I was told that http://www.maddogdomains.com/ is owned by WWD (a house account) and the resellers cannot compete with them. WTF! it would have been nice to know that before a signed up with Google AdWords and lost money. Anyway...thats life! I guess the little guy will always get F**k. While visiting Godaddy in Arizona last year I got a strong feeling that they (the new owners) will soon push all the resellers out. I just want to know if there are any better reseller companies out there you guys would suggest.
Thanks

Personally, I think it's going to be next to impossible to compete with the big dogs. No matter where you get a reseller account from your prices will never be lower than theirs. However, I do think there may be some better choices out there for reseller accounts aside from WildWestDomains. Their API is outdated and the ResellerExtranet options are rather limited. Part of the pricing structure through any reseller program is going to be volume. If ResellerA is only getting 100 new registrations per month but ResellerB is getting 1000 then ResellerB is most likely going to get cheaper registration rates than ResellerA.

Here are some other reputable resellers you may want to look into.
ResellerClub
eNom Reseller
onlineNic Reseller
Name.com Reseller

eNom aren't the oldest and best Reseller company for nothing. Their system works. They don't compete. Great control panel. Not the cheapest prices, especially privacy. Support nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Of the others named above I'd steer away from ResellerClub (because they will do the same as GoDaddy), and OnlineNIC (troubled past and i don't like their control panel). Is Name.com a Reseller Company or is it just based on sub-accounts? If sub-accounts will do, I'd take a look at NameSilo.com, they have an excellent domain product.

FYI The three biggest resellers are, eNom, WWD, ResellerClub. You might also consider googling "Domain Reseller".

Well, for one, you can't expect to compete with them. You need your own strategy, your own marketing, your own angle and build your own relationships with customers. How about adding a compatible product along with domains?

IMO, WWD reseller is one of the worst domain resellers.

Why would you want to compete on the bottom of the barrel pricing, with no profit margin? Cheap ass customers that will leave you to save 5 cents? Build up a nice brand, and compete on quality, or features, or something else :)
