Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Also, this issue remains unresolved, unfortunately. Very disappointed.
I am still encountering the ADD_PROCESSED issues when adding new domains. Additionally, it appears a new bug has been introduced that prevents me from manually resolving this issue in the "Add Domains" section. The "Next" button is simply unresponsive in both Firefox and Chrome.

Afternic simply takes too long.

Too long to update in their name server verification (12 hours and counting) and too long when updating pricing on a name. I've learned the hard way to check the landers after making changes regardless of who is hosting.

Namepros, Spaceship, Porkbun, Dynadot are vitrually instant. Afternic is not...this causes a waste of time. Time is pretty much the only thing money cant buy.

I truly would like to include the Godaddy/Afternic platform in my domaining venture, but these walls are getting tiresome.

I contacted afternic by email and chat support regarding domain pending sync since two days, I got same reply from both asking me to add my TXT record or NS3 !!
My TXT record was already added when i listed the domain, I believe pending sync has no relation to domain ownership verification !
Domain ownership verification has different procedure and can be solved within minutes without contacting support .

Just noticed something odd with Afternic and wanted to see if anyone else is dealing with the same thing.

It looks like they removed the option to choose a default payout method. Right now, whichever payee is listed at the top is the one that gets paid, no matter what.

The problem is:
If I want a small sale to go to PayPal and a bigger sale to go to my bank account, theres no way to control that anymore. The only workaround is to actually delete the other payee before accepting the sale, which feels pretty risky and definitely not ideal.

Anyone know if Afternic is planning to bring back the ability to pick how you want to get paid?
The old system made a lot more sense.

Curious if others are running into this too.

@love4ever - That support response is classic.

Here's a real response from someone who frequently comes across this issue.

Delete and relist. That usually works for me.

@GoDaddy

You can edit payment method and chose make as default. It works.

But I like to see implementation of auto selecting payment method according to a set threshod.

Has anything changed in the Lead Center notifications? What's the difference between "Email sent to buyer." and "The broker sent a message."?

The new PR landers were successful and will be replacing the old Afternic landers, and they will use GD URLs.

The inactive/not available lander also got the new look. We are close to godaddy.com being used for everything front facing while Afternic will only be used for our dashboard.

Great news for the normies who will feel more comfortable with GoDaddy URLs instead of Afternic.

activate.now

Now I'm just waiting for them to activate .now

Too long in coming, but at least it's finally arriving, Businesses don't know about or care about "Afternic". GoDaddy has spent a lot building a well known brand (prob the most well known brand around domains). That is the only brand that should be combined with sales of any type. It's who buyers trust.

"Experiments" are great when they don't happen on your customers' portfolios.

Looks like the removed this stuff from the custom lander BIN only option, I'm guessing this cleaner layout converts better?

Before:

After:

Update
It only shows for some domains, must be an A/B test again.

They replied this to me:

"
Thank you for contacting Afternic Support in regards to using your default payee.

Please note that unfortunately the default payee option seems to no longer be available following our recent update our payee page. The functionality will be added in the near future, however at this time the default payee would be the top-most one.

Until the payees are updated, we suggest using the top-most payee for payments.

Let us know if you have other questions or concerns in the meantime.

Regards,

Denis"

I'm experiencing the same issue, pending forever. Or actually I don't seem to be able to add any .ai domains, they are either not listed at all after "successfully submitted" or they are stuck in pending sync state. Delete+relist doesn't help with the latter.

I'm not going to contact their clueless support, I can very well live without those AN listings.

I received the Fast Transfer / Afternic Premium Network opt-in link from my registrar (GoDaddy) and approved it successfully.

Currently, the Transfer Information shows:
โ€ข Fast Transfer Eligibility: Eligible
โ€ข Fast Transfer Status: ON

Based on Afternic documentation, this indicates the domains are already enrolled in the Premium / Fast Transfer Network, even though the โ€œSet up Fast Transferโ€ button still appears in the UI.

Just looking for confirmation from others with similar setup.

can anyone help me

Afternic/GD bugs are again at the peak. And when that happens, sales typically go down by 20-50% at least.

E.g.,

- When adding names from GD interface into Afternic, it shows success, but about half of the names don't get added (even with unique NS). So basically the sync is broken.

- The lease section at Afternic is broken. Clicking on anything there (next page, sorting etc.) brings to a page saying there are no leased domains.

Plus, for the inquiry lander, they have added multiple pages with stupid questions like what are you going to do with the domain, have you bought before etc. They took the dan lander and ... learned nothing. It is 101 of online commerce: each added page takes considerable chunk off the probability of selling.

The worst part, I have directly reported these and other problems and they still cannot fix or won't care to fix or the problem just comes back shortly after (like the gd interface to afternic listing sync).

Another day, another shot in the foot by Godaddy. And all these at the time when the competition is getting better and stronger. I am seriously considering moving the landers to Spaceship and taking advantage of their 5% commission. I will give GD/AN another week to sort it out and then start testing waters. I mean if 50%+ sales will come from landers + NC/SS registry pathway, it will beat the Afternic 15% mix.

e.g.60% x 5% + 40% x 25% = 13%.

I share your frustration @Recons.Com.

We all do.

So many problems are still unresolved, and meanwhile GoDaddy's marketing push keeps ramping up.

The company's reduced engagement here suggests Sellers may be lower priority for them.
