Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

It seems that GoDaddy is no longer using the wording "Get It Now" for domains that are not in Fast Transfer. I just checked several of my domains that do not use Fast Transfer, and they are displayed as "Buy Now".

A good move I think.

Please try loading it in an incognito window. We’re looking into the issue on our side.

@GoDaddy this is minor but I had another lead come in, Self Brokered.

So under Sales, when you click Self-Brokered Leads, you see nothing, it goes to Needs Attention by default. Then you have Favorites, then Sale Pending, then at the end you have More and a dropdown where you need to click All to finally see the lead.

So the lead should be there right after you click Self Brokered Leads, it's active, instead of hiding out at the end in the dropdown menu. Like I said, minor thing.
Thanks for the feedback, @JB Lions. Sounds like a potential UX upgrade for the future. It’s not something we’re prioritizing right now, but we’ll pass it along to the product team for consideration in future updates.

What is a typical pay out time frame for a domain sale not pointing to Afternic servers these days ?
Nameservers don’t affect Afternic payout timing. The sales venue can, though. GoDaddy sales typically close fast and most sellers are paid the same day or the day after. Partner network sales take a bit longer because of the extra steps involved, but we’re actively working to shorten that gap.

if I put bins on afternic do my domains go on extended partner networks even if I dont approve fast transfer and or my registrar doesnt offer it?
Without Fast Transfer, your domains are placed in the Standard Network. You can review the full list of partners, here: https://help.afternic.com/s/article/Afternic-Partners

Yes! Glad you noticed. Standard transfer and Make Offer previously went through GoDaddy Auctions. Make Offer, in particular, wasn't the best experience, since buyers had to go to GoDaddy Auctions in order to submit their offer.

We’ve moved both into the same system that Fast Transfer uses. What you’re seeing with the Buy Now button is the result of that shift.

What's your top five Afternic frustrations right now? Mine: commission penalty for not using GoDaddy network nameservers, the 20s add-to-cart delay, the many repeated logouts during the day, CSV imports that don't flag ADD failures, and so many small bugs that take ages to fix. I really want to give Afternic landers another try, but I'm not ready for it yet.

in payee settings if "hold my payments" is chosen, is there a time limit that afternic will hold my payments?

Pretty much what you said, plus:

* Afternic Boost being a thing.
* Editing prices will often change the LTO time period with the first number typed (this appears to be an element focus issue when the window is opened)
* When pasting multiple domains in the dashboard, it incorrectly adds "%20" instead of the space character, leading to 0 domains being displayed.
* Inaccurate values displayed under the Fast Transfer column. Often it will say Opt-in Required when it is already active, etc.
* A copy feature would be nice so when you are manually changing the BIN price, it also applies it to the min price so that you don't have to type in the price twice.

Also currently there is an issue where the login screen isn't coming up in a modal window any more (is anyone else experiencing this, or maybe it's just an issue with my cookies). Instead it is displaying fullscreen and any actions taken on the previous screen are forgotten and have to be redone.

Half of these have probably been said multiple times years ago, but like you say, they don't seem to get fixed.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, every time I'm changing a price, AN requires me to log in again. At that stage of the change approval login, I cannot log in.. I have to close the page and open a new one. Anyone else experiences the same?

I think it's same frustration as what I mentioned in the posting above: "the many repeated logouts during the day"

This has been happening over the last month I think.

I think it's set to timeout after 60 minutes, same as changing the prices on Dynadot.

Yeah. It should be lightning fast when adding domains to your cart but I am looking at this instead.
At Afternic, adding a domain to your cart is so slow you could knit a sweater, bake a cake, and still take a screenshot.

Our domain investor team is indeed working on this alongside other GoDaddy departments.
This was written in Sept, 2024.

Still, the GoDaddy departments are not able to fix the 20s delay issue.

All the other platforms are much faster. Hopefully, this domain will get added to my cart sometime today.

November sales have been poor. Not sure if Afternic issues have a big role, considering I'm using BIN lander.

Im considering using something like Sudos for landers, so buyers have multiple options - GoDaddy, Sedo, Atom etc to buy. Downside is a 25% commission on Afternic.

Has anyone explored on these lines ?
