Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

go to Afternic and search for Bostonfall without the extension. Then search with the extension. Nowhere to be found. Smh

Shouldn't it show the domain with Get A Price when the domain is clearly using the Afternic RP lander.
Considering its one of their employees, can see they dont get special treatment.
Maybe Joe turned boostoff too๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Gotta re.ply on a price request for bostonfall
Had a godaddy checkout link that took forever to load.
That link should be in first response from every .broker
This response is quite professional and was not in spam

What does it mean? "This is a one-time FEE to acquire the domain name." Are they referring to the price of the domain?

Good question, the wording is odd/confusing. Should it say THERE is a one-time FEE?

Are they referring to the 20% broker fee that Godaddy imposes?

- edit -
wtf? GD/Afternic now imposes a (non-refundable) $99.99 fee ON TOP OF the 20% brokerage commission!!??

GoDaddy seem to get their perverse jollies throwing around the word FEE. Purchase refers to PRICE (and/or PAYMENT) not a bloody FEE!!

Further, "Full Domain Protection" translates as RIP-OFF and/or HIGHWAY ROBBERY. Stick that in your beloved FEE satchel, GoDaddy!

And if you'd care about conversions, you would call it INVESTMENT.

This has been baffling me for a long time. Fee is the price one pays for a service.

Hi @Fabrizio,
Appreciate the feedback. The phone number on Buy it Now and Request Price landers is tied to your GoDaddy session location. The Custom Lander number is currently static - we'll look into this to see if this can be updated or not.

Thanks @GoDaddy for your reply.

I really hope you pay attention to the comments on this thread because there are some very good suggestions. The one reported by @rh2000 is a critical one.

My question is: When we will see translated landers? The whole Godaddy website is translated in many languages, but our selling pages aren't!

Thanks again for your time.

@GoDaddy We're still seeing a huge 20s delay when adding a domain to the cart from the custom lander. How many of your departments have already examined this, and why is this issue dragging on? Has anyone pinpointed the cause yet?

I suspect that the cause is that they really do not care. The bar is set very low but they do have a lot of "exciting" developments. These generally do not involve fixing fundamental problems.

(Yes. I'm pretty sure you already knew this quite well.)

Their programmers don't fix all the issues at once. Instead, they take months to resolve a minor bug, happily collecting their paychecks throughout this prolonged process. If they were to address every problem in one go, they might worry about their roles becoming redundantโ€”or even fear losing their jobs. So, they stretch what should have been a few hours of technical work into months of effort, then proudly label it as an โ€œexcitingโ€ update! At this pace, I suppose itโ€™ll take them thirty years to turn Afternic into a modern, user-friendly websiteโ€”just in time for their retirement!

@GoDaddy One way I see to boost commitment in leaseโ€‘toโ€‘own sales is by requiring a configurable down payment. Is this feature currently on your development radar at all?

@Afternic

I am completely helpless after what your team has done to me. My account was permanently banned without a clear explanation, and this happened right after I had 3 sales through your platform:
  • HitForFun.com โ€“ completed sale, payout still not released. The domain is under the 60-day lock, and since my account is blocked, I cannot do anything about it.
  • PiratePita.com โ€“ completed sale, payout still not released.
  • Visitations.org โ€“ canceled sale, and the domain has not been returned to my registrar (NameSilo).
Instead of honoring these transactions, you shut down my account citing vague โ€œterms of service violationsโ€ which I have never knowingly violated.

This decision has left me financially stuck, emotionally hurt, and my reputation as a serious domain investor destroyed. Support has been completely unhelpful and has not given me any real answers

I am asking you directly here:
  • When will my payouts for HitForFun.com and PiratePita.com be released?
  • When will Visitations.org be returned to my registrar?
  • Why was I banned without any fair investigation?
Afternic, this has ruined my business and damaged my reputation. I need you to address this publicly and resolve my case.

Aftermarket is less than 10% of their revenue - so even though many of their aftermarket decisions are highly questionable, they are likely not the primary reason their stock is plummeting.
