Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

So No indexing , No traffic tracking , No proper visibility without boosting , No proper discount without the new upgraded DDC tier ! More NO's coming in the future ... :(.

Remember, it's GD's traffic and not yours.

Afternic no longer exists, so it's gotta be NoDaddy.
For those old enough to know the Rick James song Superfreak, I can't help but think of GoDaddy when Rick yells "Blow Daddy!" just before the sax solo. ๐Ÿ˜„

I sincerely doubt they'll get any bids, as GD is no longer in that market. They shut down Uni, they shut down Dan and they shut down Afternic (only the base infrastructure to feed domains to GD exists), all at huge losses.

They only thing GD cares about is a) using your domain traffic to funnel in new customers and b) upselling domain investors on clubs and features.
You would think they wouldn't buy Dan after buying Uniregisty.Once they see that a player is cutting into their commission ,they would make a move.

They lack in innovation and their top management is clueless. They spend millions on TV ads and they are still filled with bugs .

Atom wouldn't reduce their commission because they keep spending more on marketing and other stuffs .

They need to cut cost and then refocus to capture the market .

Spaceship is slowly building out and low commission is a plus and enticing to make sellers point their landers .

Godaddy wants total control, reason they penalize for not using their Nameserver, but to some people, best solution is increase pricing which never used to be the case .

Name sold without being forced to point NS to afternic .So tell me how they are friendly to domain investors? Most are blindsided and cant speak up as long as the sales keep coming in .
There is no community when it comes to individual domain decisions as we are all scattered around the world .What works for you wont work for another investor In a developing country.

One of the many reasons ,Godaddy Will always keep dictating to some people and they have no option, when many options are right there right now .

Cant wait to see what Namepros is building and launching .As long as they dont sell to Godaddy because Godaddy like to ruin a processing business .

Do not allow GD to control your happiness and never depend on them for your success .

I think this are good times with great opportunities, when old structures fall and new can be build, many will remember Godaddy as Skype, ICQ and other such companies.

I have been noticing an issue the past few weeks where my afternic listed domains will have a lower price even though the price is correct in afternic domain manager. I keep getting compliance notifications from Atom that the domains are not priced correctly in Afternic, but when I check they are priced correct.

When I search on Godaddy, the domains are NOT priced the same as in my afternic account. For instance, I have domains priced $3299 but when I search on Godaddy the price is $3099. I have tried resubmitting the listings but nothing.

This is a problem because when the buyer goes to checkout it will show the lower price and not the correct price. The buyer should not be able to purchase a domain with a different price than what's in the account.

What is going on? Why does it take so long for the price to update in the system? It should be instant.

GoDaddy wanted to take over private domain sales from Dan and Afternic (streamlining/cost-saving/new customer creation), but didn't want to build a new "domain listing center" for us to use. So they created a kludge by keeping a section of Afternic live in order to store and then feed our domains to GoDaddy, thereby incurring a often-substantial delay between what you do on the old Afternic backend and when it appears in GoDaddy production.

But hey, some GD execs got a big bonus for that cut-rate scheme.

For info, it has been raised before, I have found domains where the price has not updated after months. To protect yourself it makes sense to download the Afternic spreadsheets with your prices if you don't already.

When this came up before, inspection of the ToS found it makes no promises about when updates will take effect.

It's also another reason that enabling Fast Transfer is a bad risk.

I had to delete and re-add in order to get the price to update. It updated right away.

So resubmitting and editing price does not work instantly in some cases.

It's all random and there is no 100% solution.

I've done what you did and it didn't change immediately, while I've just edited the price on an existing domain and it showed up right away.

@Afternic, I find a serious bug, Recently, I sold a domain, before the transfer of domain transaction started, I changed my account payment from wire transfer to PayPal. However, after the transaction ended, why did you still make payment through wire transfer instead of PayPal? I would like to know the reason? Does the switching of payment selection settings not work?

I have two payment IDs, ID AAAAAA has only set up wire transfer, and ID BBBBBB has only set up paypal. Before this, I had dozens of transactions, and before making payments, I freely switched to the default payment method without any problems. but recently, I switched the default payment method, encountered payment problems.

If you didn't receive email confirming your payment method, It means you didn't complete the process ,
At the end of the steps you have to press ''save'', some they forget and nothing will change .

thanks reply, You're right, I just understood

After several days of research, I found that this is a bug left by Afternic for old users. If you are an old user and have multiple payment IDs, you may have the same problem as me. Sedo and the previous Dan can switch payments, and Afternic used to switch payments similarly to Sedo and Dan, but this is not the case now. If you have multiple payment IDs and switch payments like Sedo or dan, It won't work. this bug is only encountered by old users of Afternic.

Through this question, I understand that there are indeed many bugs after the upgrade of Afternic, and some bugs can only be encountered by old users. However, what their customer service knows is only the knowledge of using the upgraded new account, and some details of the accounts of new and old users are different. After several days of repeated communication with their client, I found that their customer service still couldn't understand the bug. In the end, it was me who figured it out myself, and their customer service still can't understand the bug.

GoDaddy has had bugs for a long timeโ€”even years ago, I used to point them out. Nowadays, it feels like they only look out for themselves. Iโ€™ve even learned to take advantage of some of these bugs.

One important warning: never let anyone convince you to do a fast transfer. Itโ€™s the easiest way for your domain to get stolen or sold, with the original owner getting paid while you end up losing out. GoDaddy offers very little help if something goes wrongโ€”thatโ€™s just how they operate.

@GoDaddy has this "Domain Insights" box that is (sometimes) displayed for exact matches at GoDaddy ever been conversion tested? This must hurt most domains, especially since the "Visits:" is just completely wrong. I checked for a domain that has afternic nameservers and displays 1037 visits there.

For the love of god please remove this again or make it optional in the Afternic dashboard.

Checked these domains as well (NOT mine). Visits stats definitely broken.
