Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Service restoration is taking an unusually long time. Could this be the result of a security incident?

GoDaddy branded security blankets... (talk amongst yourselves)

I know I will sound too silly, but the mentioned issue just happened to me a few minutes ago, I refreshed the browser and everything seems ok now.

Kindly continue to update us on the course of events, letting us partake in the story as it unfolds.
Good morning @Future Sensors, this was resolved swiftly last night. Since this was related to SSO, impacted customers should log out, and then log back in. Your session will be refreshed.

"Swiftly" is not really true, which the messages on X can confirm. For hours, the last message was that you were investigating, but nothing about the issue being resolved. That message only came this morning.

Incidentally, this is now the second time in a short period that there are problems with SSO, which affects both Afternic and GoDaddy platforms. Have measures been taken to prevent this?

Thanks for fixing again.

I have to login/logout SSO every day and for about two weeks now, SSO requires ALWAYS 2FA for every login for me, even though my setting at Godaddy is 2FA for "suspicious attempts" only.

I'm logging in from the same browser/same computer/same IP address range/same country all the time, but I still get both the Authenticator 2FA and the SMS 2FA for the same login attempt.

For me that's a nuisance, but potential buyers might be put off by this.

FYI: last Friday I mentioned that 7 names were removed from my Afternic Account. GD asked me to send them the names, and they did reply via DM that there was an issue. I don't know if it was an isolated incident related to my account, or more widespread -- so to be safe it could be a good time to verify your Afternic Listings...

Reply from GoDaddy via DM
Hi @DN_Hunter,
It looks like there was a brief issue on Friday that our team has investigated, and is actively resolving.

Thank you for sending these over.

I've not signed in to AN in a good while so maybe I'm missing something... But there doesn't seem to be a sign-in button/link on the Afternic home page. This seems.... sub-optimal.

It is a small Login text on the top right of the page (at least when using a computer, not sure about on a phone).

This is how it looks on Chrome.
If the window is narrower it switches to a person icon with pull down menu to log in.
Concerning that it does not seem to show on Firefox or Mobile from your posts.

It's showing on Firefox for me, and the same for Edge, which is basically Chrome.

On mobile it switches to a Person Icon, and I have a feeling those not seeing it is due to an Adware or Element blocker.

As far as I'm aware I run no adblockers etc on my devices (unless already built in to Firefox).

Are your desktop browsers up to date?

And did you try clicking those 3 dots on mobile to see if it's hidden in there?

And you're not already signed in on any of these devices right?

Yeah up to date. The dots are the browser menu/settings drop down. Even if I switch to desktop site on mobile there is no sign in. Very strange. I'll try on my wife's laptop.
