Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Hi @Jannes,
Could you DM us an active example?

Well I just relisted one domain after I noticed (by chance) new activity. If follow-ups are not supposed to happen with unlisted domains, that's good enough for me, I don't want to pinpoint any broker.

I keep receiving emails asking for authorisation to list.
The domain is already listed on AN and visible on GD search.
Is this just a coded message to authorise Fast Transfer?

You need to really hurry up
So I don’t have to lose 2000$ because your broker doesn’t know how to close a deal and waits 6 days to accept an offer.

Even without a full Self-Brokerage System, I cannot believe that Afternic doesn't have an "Accept Offer" button so that we don't have to wait days for the broker to actually read our message.

You can set floor price equal to the offer amount

I don't think that does anything in a Make Offer negotiation, as the most recent offer price from the buyer isn't even officially listed on a transaction I'm waiting on, it's just message text.

I think I know what you mean, when I make a final offer, set the floor price to be the same, but that's not the case here, as I am talking about me hitting an "Accept Offer" from a buyer. How would I hit an accept offer on my own offer?

I have also recently received many such authorization requests for domains that are registered with Godaddy but not listed by me on Afternic.

Questions @GoDaddy
How can I check that these are Godaddy suggestions and not thieving individuals?
At some point, in the heat of the moment, a user error happens and domains are possibly gone.
For example, on Sunday I initially received a Godaddy prompt "Action Required: Update your invalid registrant information" even though nothing in my data has changed. When I did this with a mouse click, I immediately received an "Action required: Authorize your domain listings." Email for alleged Afternic listings. I almost confirmed it because I initially suspected a connection with my registrant data.

Question: What are Godaddy/Afternic doing to finally put a stop to the already traditional illegal activities of third partieswith Afternic listings / FT? It cannot be the case that domain owners have to list with Afternic to protect themselves from theft. Or alternatively, have to give up participation in Afternic.

I guess so. They aren't master communicators. My favorite is the GoDaddy email titled "Your domains were removed from Afternic." (= some domain is not eligible for FT anymore)

Here's one horror story. Note their claim that they didn't authorize (click) anything.

ok, but isn't this authorization email regarding fast transfer ?
always thought it was for fast transfer.

I have authorized several listings via this. Are my domains in danger?
Should I do anything now?

No worries (?) if they are in your Afternic account.

just checked and they are.
for future reference, it is best not to authorize this? or should I go to my godaddy account directly to do it?

I received a couple of these emails a few days ago for a bunch of domain names. It was strange because these names have been in my Afternic account for a while, but none of them has a BIN price. NOTE: they did have a BIN about 2 weeks ago, but I removed all BIN prices for names that I moved to different platforms.

I checked that all the names the emails asked me to Authorize were still listed in my Afternic account. I did not click the link in the emails just to be safe.

I can't say that you shouldn't authorize/confirm FT if you're expecting that email (because you've listed your domain with BIN).

Only 11 Days, 13 Hours and 32 Minutes left until Afternic releases its Self-Brokerage System.

Does that mean this is only for Godaddy names at first?
Hi Kyle,
No :)

Hi @BritFlippa,
Yes, Afternic's Premium Network is exclusively available to Fast Transfer domains. Participation requires opt-in approval from the registrant. If you didn't recently add a new Fast Transfer-eligible domain, it's likely that a domain has become Fast Transfer-eligible after its 60-day registration lock was lifted.

@GoDaddy - I currently have a domain under transfer lock period sold. The transaction assurance team says waiting for 60-days is the only option. Can you clarify.

This is what you've mentioned: https://www.namepros.com/threads/fi...1336391/?utm_source=namepros.com#post-9263398

Hi @Smooth,
What's the domain name in question?

Even without a full Self-Brokerage System, I cannot believe that Afternic doesn't have an "Accept Offer" button so that we don't have to wait days for the broker to actually read our message.
Hi @DomainRecap,
We do. When an offer is presented for review within the system, you'll have an option to accept or counter.

You mean with the Self-Brokerage System, right, and I was just referring to the fact that Afternic has existed since the 90's without the option to Accept an Offer. It boggles the mind.
