Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Where do you set the Default Minimum Offer on Afternic?

I've been looking for it everywhere, but I can't seem to find it. Did this setting get moved or deleted, or am I going nuts?

I assume you mean bulk?

I think it's where the filters are, above the portfolio page to the right.

@DomainRecap - Are you sure you're not thinking of DAN or perhaps another platform?

I don't recall Afternic ever having an option within the account settings to set your desired default minimum offer, but I could be wrong and we could all be going nuts.

I know it was there at one point because I changed it from the $20 default to $600 and then to $1000, but that last change may have been ~2 years ago. The new 2.0 UI might have gotten rid of this field.

No I meant there used to be a field for Minimum Offer you'd enter a number into, but that probably got deleted with the 2.0 UI and I haven't needed to change the number in years.

I still don't see how to make a "bulk change" using that, it seems to just be a filter for viewing.

Under the 2.0 UI, a better question might be: Using the Afternic UI how do I easily make a bulk change to the Minimum Offer on all of my domains?

When I click on my edit price, there’s a field to put in minimum offer. Also like I said, above my portfolio listing to the right, a way to bulk add minimum price bid for all.

What exact screen are seeing this "bulk change minimum price" feature in?

From what you're describing it would seem to be 'Portfolio -> All Domains' but I can't find anything at all there.

Oh, I know about the Price Adjustment screen, but I didn't know you could select all your domains as I can only select 500 domains per page. How did you accomplish updating all your domains?

If you plan to change your entire portfolio to have the same MIN, you can EXPORT all of your names. Open up the .csv file and change the MIN column for everything. Save the updated .csv and then upload it to Afternic (Add Domains / Upload file).

If you go with updating your prices using CSV file, export the domains after and double check the pricing.

Anyone else have problems with double-posting in the broker area?

I create a message, hit Send, it asks me to log in then errors out, leaving the original message window unchanged. So I hit Send again, and it updates showing two duplicate posts. >:(

I cant help to wonder if I could have done better to complete these sales had I worked directly with the buyers.
I deleted the domains names and the broker names.

No need to wonder, as I just proved it out.

I really don't wonder I was just trying to be a little sarcastic. We would all do better.

Just had another big LTO sale cancel. The auto lock was going to be lifted in 2 weeks. They couldn't wait 2 weeks!

@GoDaddy

After I add names to Afternic I receive an email from [email protected]. A high percentage of names are rejected for parking because the domain is currently under someone else's account.

samplename.com: Rejected, domain currently under someone else's account.

What is the procedure for getting names approved and added that fall in this category? As far as I know, there is not one. I would be happy to use the Afternic NS3 verification option. The rejected names from today are even in my GoDaddy account so verification should be easy.

I have asked various contacts about this. I have not received an answer. It seems to be that rejected names remain rejected. Override by a person at AN/GD may be possible. I've seen that before but that's not efficient or elegant. And right now I'm not seeing that happen.
Hi @Garet,
We'll chat with the parking team and get back to you - although a specific domain would be useful as an example.

The new relisting tool works good, and I'm happy that Afternic implement a useful new feature.

Is there brighter days ahead? 🌅
Thanks, @enterscope! We're glad you like the latest update!

@Afternic @GoDaddy I recently began receiving payments through Wire Transfer instead of ACH Transfer.

Afternic deducts $26 from the payout amount for wire transfer fees. Additionally, the payment service they use, Tipalti, sets the wire transfer fees to "Shared," which will deduct another $13 from the amount I receive. This means that Afternic charges me 1.5 times the total wire transfer fees.

What do you call that?

Hi @Sameh,
The specifics of each payout option can be found through GoDaddy, but please feel free to DM us an example domain sale, and we'll check in with the support team. It's worth noting that you can set a payout threshold to offset any fees. This can be done by editing your default payout method through https://www.afternic.com/account/payments.

James, we are talking about different things... See the screenshot for what I mean. See the gap from Feb 15 to March 3? That is when I got zero emails, while before that I was getting 3-5 a day. My rep triggered something on his end and I got bulk 2 emails that covered few hundred names that probably did not get their emails during that window. Today I got a normal combined one, so hopefully it is solved.

What is not solved is that occasionally I get 404 page for GD's home page (!!!)! I got it few times today. How can we expect anything to function normal if Godaddy cannot get its own most important single URL to function properly and cannot resolve this bug over many days?

Thanks for the added clarification @Recons.Com, that's good to know. We'll make sure to connect with your account manager.

Noted on the 404 error.

Hi @DomainRecap,
As others have noted, there are several ways to adjust the minimum offer value at the domain level. The quickest method for making bulk adjustments is through the CSV upload. For a smaller number of domains, you can use a combination of bulk search and filters to narrow down your list. Then, select your domains and make edits from the "Pricing" link in the footer toolbar.

Just used it and it worked.

Now if I could make a FT sale to see what the hype is about.
Great to hear, @King. Fingers crossed for another sale for you soon!

Just had another big LTO sale cancel. The auto lock was going to be lifted in 2 weeks. They couldn't wait 2 weeks!
Hi @BrandBoogie, could you please DM us the domain? We'd like to share this with our product team.

Hi

you should have left the borkers names there so we can see who's dragging their feet.

these borkers are missing the boat.
buyers are fickle and when they don't get quick replies, most of them tend to move on.

i see very little, if any, back and forth negotiations.

imo...
