Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

could be, but domains are not related and weren't bought on the same day - however, both are .ai - which may have something to do with it knowing the transition to Identity Digital

Yep, .AI transfers are definitely manual, so they'll take a bit for someone human to actually start the process.

Something like .COM or .CA, it's automatic and done maybe 5 minutes after I enter the code.

As there are no entries for "Unlist" or "Unlisting" in the Afternic knowledge/help files...

What exactly does the "Unlist" function do, what status is your domain, and can you easily "Relist" these from the Afternic dashboard?

I'm kinda looking to take a break and I'm hoping this just puts the domains in temporary limbo, while still keeping others from fraudulently listings your domains, but allowing these domains to easily be 'relisted' when you want.

I also found some snippets here are NP that suggest "unlisting" a domain at Afternic only limits it from being shown on MLS networks and has no effect on whether it's displayed at Afternic.

Great questions. I'm considering the same

Hi,

Had 2 domains sold a week or so ago, immediately provided auth. codes and they have been stuck in the process. Usually, based on my experience with Afternic, the moment you provide the code domains get transferred in next 24 hours but it's been a week. At the stage of the process, once domain is sold and AN asks for the code - did the buyer already transfer money? My fear is that they are issues with the money transfer and I am scared of the sale getting canceled. Any experiences?

The domains registered in which registrar ?

@GoDaddy

At AN > Portfolio > All Domains > Click on 'Name' > Pricing > Edit

The pop-up box shows "Hidden" Y/N toggle at the top.

Info says 'Not visible on all our distribution networks or landers'.

Might that be it?

Sounds like that relates only to pricing - so the domain itself would still be listed there, but without no price?...

It's not a toggle per se, just shows if that particular domain has been unlisted (yes=not listed for sale). But yes that (?) shows the same info as this:

Not sure. It's the same box as Jannes shows ...

...but this one is from a different place.

The one I meant is through the name itself, not on the list of names.

Anyway, they should use the word 'hidden' systematically, imo. 'Not listed' can be confusing and the difference between 'unlist' and 'delete' is not self-evident. @GoDaddy, could you just use 'hidden' and 'hide'?

And maybe a 'Bulk Hide' for @DomainRecap and those of you who have tons of names
but want to be absent for a while.

if u dont mind asking cause 2 or more per week is way above avg..
how many per month avg u sell? what avg price per name... what folio size...

roughly
tnx for the share
hey I have a very small portfolio around 500, started a year ago - around 20 sold. I would say first 5 covered the costs.

From my experience, I take that "Unlist" triggers the same effect as toggling to "Hidden".

The difference, I think, is that the "Unlist" option is part of the bulk actions menu, while the toggle is at hand when you are working on a specific domain.

The effect is AN keeps it on your account but it is not listed for sale. On GoDaddy's search results it shows as "Already registered" or "Unavailable".

Am I understanding correctly, @GoDaddy ?

The main reason I use the HIDDEN toggle is for names I'm not selling at the moment, but I want to prevent other scammers from listing my names in their account. So instead of deleting them from my account, I use the HIDDEN switch. But I think they treat them differently if you happen to have a MIN price set.

Example: I have 2 names HIDDEN -- one with a MIN of $100K, other with a MIN of $10K. I go to GoDaddy and type in my exact name, the Higher price offers a Broker Service fee to try and get it. The lower priced name actually shows with the MIN amount.

By 'MIN' do you mean 'Minimum' - Floor Price?

MIN = Minimum Offer Price. If I set the FLOOR price, I think the AN Brokers can sell it at that price without contacting me. So I leave the FLOOR PRICE and BUY NOW PRICE at zero

Ah, ok. Thanks for clarifying.
I'm still at the easily-confused-newbie stage. 🤗

I thought you meant that it defaulted to showing your floor price to the buyer.

Good job, and now we just need confirmation that Hidden is the same thing as Unlisted (probably is, knowing Afternic) because Unlisted is a mass-editable field, while I can't find Hidden anywhere else.
