@GoDaddy I've sold a domain via afternic more than 10 days ago, I've immediately sumbitted the authcode but the transfer process hasn't started yet (on your side). I've contacted Afternic transaction assurance and haven't received any reply after more than a week. Can you kindly look into it?
Hi @zomainhacks
Thanks for alerting us. Sure, please send the domain to us via DM, and we'll see what the hold up is.

@GoDaddy, Do you know why prices are not shown on Buy-now domains? I have the correct 'sale Lander' setting set to show the price, yet the lander is an inquiry form with a phone number to get a price.
Hi @sircc
We'd recommend doing a quick check to ensure the domain isn't In Review, since domains in that status won't be able to show a Buy it Now price.

This is portfolio-wide, and I have no domains for review. I'm okay with leaving them at the 'request price, ' but I wonder why they have not transitioned to' buy now.'

I also noticed you suggest using 'price request' over 'buy-now' for average to high-priced domains. Do you have any insights as to why this option benefits us?

I just noticed that the changes made to the landers only affect newly added domains. The previous settings are retained.

Since the ns1/ns2 Afternic nameservers have "lame delegations" for all customer parked domains, I recommend using ns3/ns4 or ns5/ns6 Afternic nameservers, since these nameservers have another, correct configuration.

The type of lander can still be configured in the Afternic dashboard, regardless of which name servers you use.

It's rather odd that even GoDaddy Premier Hub is now complaining that ns1/ns2 Afternic nameservers are not configured correctly, and GoDaddy doesn't fix this.

Furthermore, note that the lame ns1/ns2 name servers prevent ns1/ns2 from being set for certain TLDs such as .de, as these registries perform a strict DNS pre-delegation check (a workaround is setting NS3/NS4 and NS5/NS6 there).

@GoDaddy You may contact me in DM for more info on how to fix the ns1/ns2 nameservers. The ns3/ns4 and ns5/ns6 nameservers are configured correctly.

Hi all,

I'm striking the french IRS.
They consider even when selling through afternic and dan I'm seller domain to the end user.
They request from me some invoices from domains sold over afternic.

Is there anybody who already have bought domains at the second market using godaddy/afternic and can provide me invoice samples ? (you can hide your address, etc on them if you prefer....

I need sample invoices from within EU and not, personal and business account.

thanks for your help.

David.

End user is Afternic, you don't have any data on the final buyers so you can't create an invoice to them.

The french irs dont consider that, they consideri'm the seller and the buyer is mine.
Nothing is written anywhere about that.

Anyway, i would need a buyer invoice, to see that afternic is the seller to the end user.

The buyer receives a GD receipt, for them GD is the seller. Have you pointed it out to the IRS ?

Also look here: https://www.afternic.com/legal/agreements/membership-agreement
  1. LIMITED WARRANTY FOR SOLD DOMAINS
  2. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary on this Site, a Listed Domain with a Completed Sale through any GoDaddy-owned check-out process will be guaranteed for payment by Afternic if the Buyer does not perform and if the Buyer is not an associated party of the Seller. In the event of a breach by the Buyer of its responsibilities related to payment under a Buy Now transaction, the Seller agrees to immediately transfer all of Seller's right to the respective Listed Domain to Afternic and Afternic agrees to pay Seller the final sales price less any agreed upon commission.
For the purposes of this limited warranty, a "Completed Sale" means an accepted Buy Now transaction for a Listed Domain through a GoDaddy-owned Site, combined with receipt of payment by Afternic and transfer of the Listed Domain to Afternic's control.

Yes but they dont care, for the irs godaddy/afternic act as a sale facilitor, they are an intermediare. Rights for the domain goes from the seller to the buyer.

No, it actually doesn't and GD, Afternic and Dan all transfer the domain to a GD holding account, and then later push it to the customer's account. So when you transfer the domain it is accepted, registered and owned by GD.

There are lots of businesses like this, that act as an intermediary between a seller and the eventual end user, and if your little Frenchie IRS guys don't understand that, then they need to go back to school.

One thing is for sure, no amount of whining is going to change the fact that business intermediaries function and exist in the real world, and that they may have privacy concerns with releasing full customer data for all sides of a 3-party transaction.

I may be wrong, but I believe David is French. In that case, the IRS wants the invoice to verify that VAT was paid.

The problem is that nothing is documented, when dan change sudently the way they consider a transaction, only 2-3 lines on a blog post, that's not enough to be defended on a court.
On fan there is no holding account as the domain os transfered by the customer.

Yes, he stated he is French and that the French version of the IRS is asking him for GoDaddy's invoices to their customers, but it doesn't change the fact that he's not going to get them. If they want to go through GoDaddy's books then they need to contact GoDaddy.

I had a similar thing happen to me - I was working as a contractor for a US company and I kept getting asked to charge them GST/HST. I kept telling them that I only worked with this company and they were from the US and therefore do not pay GST/HST.

They kept saying the same thing over and over until someone with a brain finally read the contents, apologized and then I never heard another word about it.

Lately Dan has been transferring everything to a Dan holding account/email and I have confirmed this in all my recent sales.

It looks like, as with GD and Afternic, a GD account may now be required by Dan as well, but that's something you can confirm with them.

I just checked, everything goes to metaregistrar now.

Anyway, that could help me a lot if some of you could share me some of their invoice from godaddy that show that buyer from EU have to pay VAT for its domains !
