Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Camel Case is working for BIN.
Thanks, Camel Case works for Price Request form as well. Only issue is you gotta go edit the domains one at a time.

We're excited to launch the Custom Lander at Afternic! This combines a familiar high-performing design with powerful GoDaddy branding, providing Buy it Now and Lease to Own options for buyers worldwide.

Read more about the Custom Lander through our blog!

@GoDaddy - Just out of curiosity, are we expected to individually edit each domain in order to achieve the desired casing results or will the system eventually be able to efficiently extract it from the listing details...like the internal Afternic sales pages and DAN?

I'm asking because troubleshooting on my end has been minimal due to a bug on the Godaddy side that has been affecting the landers and preventing new listings from being purchasable via the landers or through Godaddy for the first 24 hours and support didn't know.

I noticed that earlier too. The language feels awkward without the LTO option there. I used the drop down at the bottom of the Lander Settings page for the domain and changed the setting from "Buy It Now + Lease To Own" to "Buy It Now." That corrected the issue.
Coming back to this for a moment.

What text are you seeing, after you change to Custom Lander with the BIN Only setting?

On my side, it does nothing. It still displays the obnoxious text: "Pay the full $amount now to make it yours!"

I had this issue when i set up and checked it now and it's showing the LTO. Bug that they'll have to investigate.

Changed another domain's lander to Custom Lander and it's showing this page:

@GoDaddy Why are you guys serving ads on the checkout page when using the new landers?
Show attachment 259526

I used the checkout for other landing pages and only the new Custom Lander is showing the ads.

@silentg - This is a bug that's been affecting all new listings during the first 24 hours, which means if you're using Afternic landers, they're affected as well.

If you click "Get this domain" it will take you to Godaddy where the domain appears to be listed.

However, If you click/tap the "Get it" button, it will say "This domain isn't available."

I don't know how long it's been going on, but imagine it's been quite awhile.

The team was made aware yesterday and I was informed that it should be fully resolved by tomorrow.

I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Had the same issue within 1 hour of marveling at the new Dan clone lander. But it's fixed now.

I hope everyone in this thread realizes we're beta-testing Afternic's new lander for free.

Yes, I am now seeing what you are seeing. I believe that this is in flux, a work in progress. And a step backwards in this case.

Previously, I'm quite sure that I was seeing a change but I also recall that the awkward text appeared in a different spot closer to the Buy Now button. I'm 90% sure that this has changed from when I posted that. I shared your dislike of that text and was pleased when it went away.

It will be great if you add settings for afternic lander to enable Integrating with google analytics to track visitors . same like DAN .

How many abandon their cart and purchase the cheaper version?

Point of view of any European citizen who wants to buy a domain, DAN vs. GoDaddy.

DAN Landing Page: "Here's your domain for $50,000. VAT will be added at checkout."

screencapture-dan-buy-domain-web3academy-com-2024-07-17-23_30_47.png

DAN Checkout: "Here's your domain for $50,000 + $10,500 VAT = $60,500."

screencapture-dan-orders-checkout-web3academy-com-2024-07-17-23_31_28.png

GoDaddy Landing Page:
"Here's your domain for $50,000."

screencapture-godaddy-forsale-web3academy-com-2024-07-17-23_20_10.png

GoDaddy Checkout (translated to English for clarity): "Surprise! Your domain is now $61,000. Why? We won't tell you."

screencapture-cart-godaddy-go-checkout-2024-07-17-23_24_55.png

The issue here isn't the VAT itself; any EU business knows how to handle it. The problem is GoDaddy showing one price on the landing page and a higher price at checkout, without explaining if it's due to VAT, taxes, or something else. This can easily make potential buyers change their minds. On DAN, both the landing page and checkout clearly explain that VAT will be added and how it works.

Hi @Future Sensors,
Our GoDaddy BIN landers are performing well, and we'll continue to test and iterate as we always do. Beyond that, there are no immediate plans on redesigns.
If I may be so bold: I do consider the new, native, Custom Lander to be a redesign of the (dull) BIN Lander, if LTO is disabled.

That brings me to the following question.

Besides the graphic lander designs, what exactly are the major differences between the current "BIN" Lander and the new, native "Custom" Lander with only BIN enabled (without LTO)?

Can you tell us anything about what's next for all these different Afternic landers we have now?

Same for AU GST. No mention of it on the lander at all, just a 10% price bump in the cart with ZERO explanation.

How this lander will convert anyone is a mystery.

We love the feedback and appreciation for the Custom Lander, thank you to everyone that has commented. This will be a long post..! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Dear @GoDaddy

I welcome the latest improvements to the custom landers, particularly LTO and CamelCasing. I'm a little proud of you today and will celebrate with a nice bottle of wine that has now come to room temperature.

But, I'm wondering how I can enable CamelCase in bulk for all my domains. The portfolio view shows all domains in lowercase, and as far as I can see, bulk uploading via CSV in CamelCase doesn't help change that. Afternic should honor the casing as uploaded via CSV at all times.

My specific request, if it has not been implemented yet, is to honor the CamelCase as it is done via CSV upload.
Thanks @Future Sensors! We're thrilled to have included many features domain investors have been asking for within the Custom Lander, but there's plenty more to come in the future.

For CamelCasing, in order to bring this to market as soon as we could, we used the option to allow individual editing of a domain's display name. We're looking into bulk methods, but in the interim, for customers with thousands of domain names, who also have an account manager, we recommend reaching out to them to help edit display names in bulk.

Here's just a friendly update from my side. These new Filter and Bulk Search options are still not available in my account. This must be a really slow rollout...
At the moment around 3 in 10 will have access to the new Filter tools. We're taking our time to bring these tools to all customers in a stable way.

I had this issue when i set up and checked it now and it's showing the LTO. Bug that they'll have to investigate.

Changed another domain's lander to Custom Lander and it's showing this page:

Hi @silentg
Thank you for flagging, the registration offers have been removed from the purchase path.

@GoDaddy

Will LTO and CamelCasing only be available for the "Custom Lander", or will this eventually also (partially) be rolled out to the "Request Price" and "BIN" landers?
CamelCasing is available on the BIN and Request Price landers, too. If you want to display a Lease to Own option to buyers, you'll need to use the Custom Lander.

Thanks for your feedback, @ACQWIRE Media. Right now, you're able to edit individual domain names for CamelCasing. We'll look at ways to add bulk CamelCasing options in the future.

It will be great if you add settings for afternic lander to enable Integrating with google analytics to track visitors . same like DAN .

@GoDaddy @Afternic
Hi @lovely4ever
Afternic offers on-site views, and longer-term visitor stats for individual domains via the domain details page (https://www.afternic.com/domains/[yourdomain]/details?view=statistics). We currently don't have plans to integrate Google Analytics, but we'll share this feedback with the Afternic team.

Thanks @GoDaddy

I've reached out to my Afternic account manager for the bulk CamelCase edits (until it can be modified by Seller via CSV upload). I look forward to continued developments.

Another big issue with the Afternic LTO, as I've found out, is that if less than 60 days have passed since a domain's registration or registrar transfer, the LTO cannot proceed. When adding a domain for compliance no such check takes place, however.

On the other hand, Dan.com allows for account pushes for its LTO sales.

One extra reason to hold onto Dan.com as a sales platform until Afternic is stable and feature-rich(er.)

Also, on another note, the glitch with the lander switching from BIN/LTO to the large button with "This domain is registered, but may still be available" persists.

Why am I prompted to complete 2FA so often, even though the system thinks I'm sort of signed in? It's annoying as hell when I have a lot of editing to do.
