Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

How hilarious to bring up the topic of Godaddy's reputation in this podcast. Everyone can read the 5 stars and 1 stars reviews over at trustpilot https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.godaddy.com and make up their own mind. Especially those of us that had extensive interactions with GoDaddy customer service on a regular basis.
"It seems like you're a fan, but unless youโ€™ve got a collection of inquiries with no follow-ups, you wouldn't understand the level of frustration with this amateur group of ineffective domain brokers. AI decides what to say to buyers and sellers, and these Afternic brokers really poison the deal. Maybe we should all just opt for 'Buy It Now' before they ruin everything."

Listened to the podcast on DomainSherpa: I don't buy the argument on why they put Self Brokerage behind a paywall.

They're not willing to listen to any feedback and expecting us to listen to what they have to say.

@GoDaddy
I have many LTO canceled then buyers re-buy domains.
You have lot to learn from dan (sending payment requestabout that , changing DNS, to avoid customers canceling LTO, etc...), i arrived nearly not...

Why not give all inquiries access to inquiry Country, not exactly top secret info?

Those are GoDaddy leads, not ours and never forget that.

I wouldn't expect much from a company that dominates the market with a tyrannical approach.

That data, and information, could yield 100%+ more than we receive in revenue in the future, 100%. All these companies out here trying to extract, and source data, and we are handing it over for free, can't even get a free boost.

Andrew made valid points about what sellers expect from self brokerage and Paul said theyโ€™ll share more data about leads

Then don't deal with vertically-integrated firms that have multiple business lines, in addition to a domain marketplace.

That's why places like Atom, Saw, DomainEasy, and our dear-departed Dan don't hide everything behind a wall and do allow us access to our customers, because their primary and only business is to facilitate the sale of end user domains.

Not sure what happened recently, but my Afternic views increased. Names that had 0 for a long time suddenly got some views. Interesting that. Anyone else see something similar?

Nope. My views have fallen off a cliff edge over the past few weeks.

Anyone with this problem when go to add domains to afternic in bulk mode?

1> Bulk 100 domains via CSV file.
2> Review the "upload history" and all done. Status: Completed.
3> Download report and all done. No errors.

Then go to my portfolio on only one listed "in review". No problem.
But I check from the search engine of my afternic panel for some random domains I add and... SURPRISE !!!. It is not listed. :xf.frown:

I check one by one and find that many of them are missing (extensions not .com but supported by afternic).
More than 20 domains that the system tells me have been uploaded correctly are not listed.

Is this serious?
I'm going to have to check one by one every domain I upload in bulk?
(n)

Then I try to enter them by hand one by one and I check that all those that have not been listed correctly (although afternic indicates that they have) is because it has asked me for verification โ€œverification needโ€.

But afternic does not warn me about this. Also checking each domain all of them have the correct TXT associated to afernic.

This is a nightmare if have many domains.

@Intop The issue has been reported before, and apparently @GoDaddy still hasn't fixed this. I'm noticing the same.

If you want to look at it positively: things are happening.

Furthermore, the broker Paul M. is listed a few times. In my opinion, Paul only gets "better" leads, is proactive, and closes frequently. (I can be wrong.)

Here is my current favorite Afternic negotiation. Last activity was nearly eight weeks ago and still is shown as Lead in progress.
This was a safe sale in early February, I donยดt know what happened to kill it.
Okay, often buyers suddenly change their mind; or they just need much more time to collect 2k glass beads.
More information for the seller in such cases would be fine.

This can be better there,I have a great deal of respect for one individual at Afternic, and if you ever have the opportunity to work with him, consider yourself fortunate. His name is Will Black, and he is an exceptional professional. If he believes you're underselling, he will ensure you receive more than you originally requested. When his name is involved in a transaction, you're guaranteed a successful sale. Will truly stands out as a superstar at Afternic, and if they could clone his skills and expertise, the entire platform would benefit immensely.
