Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

I have detected this for some of my .ai and .bet names: they are listed at Afternic ( no pending review status) but they show as not available in the reg path. Moreover I can´t see the aftermarket tab either. I have tried with VPN in US and local IP as well. Am I the only one having this error?

I just tested both ai and bet and mine come up fine.

Hello Afternic

A small suggestion from me.

Could you consider adding folders to improve our domain management? It would be a great addition for those who manage 2 or more portfolios. Folders can be also useful to sort domains in different categories or price ranges. In short, it would be a huge QoL improvement with that small addition.

Hello Afternic
Why Domain availability enquiry contact nos. ending with 847 shows "Navy Federal Credit Union" and other no. ending with 286 shows "Domain".
Other nos. on enquiry form ending with 390 shows "Oak Terrace Senior Apartments" & other no. ending with 808 shows " Peter-Alex Canada"
I expected them to display Afternic/Godaddy
Thanks.

@GoDaddy

So now that we're into 2025, are there any updates concerning the release of the Afternic Self-Brokerage Tool?

Here's my Afternic Question of the Day:

If I receive a WHOIS inquiry on a domain I have listed on Afternic, and due to the lower 5% commission rate for outside leads, I decide to accept a lower price than either my BIN or Min Bid price on Afternic... do these Afternic minimum prices have any effect on me creating a Custom Link for a outside lead?

For example, let's say in Scenario A, my BIN is $3000 and I accept an outside offer for $2500, or in Scenario B my Minimum Bid is $3000 and I accept an outside offer of $2500 - in either case is there going to be any problem or limiting factor with a 'custom link' transaction being priced UNDER my minimum prices at Afternic, or is it totally apart from that?

In fewer words:

I have a $3K min bid on Domain X and decide to sell it for $2.5K to an outside lead - will the Afternic system spit out an error on a custom link priced below your minimum levels? Or do I need to adjust my minimum bid to not exceed the outside lead offer price?

Thanks.

There is a new LTO sale in my Afternic account. First time since I am Afternic customer there is a tax of ca. 5% of the sale price.

I´d like to know why this LTO is taxable and why the seller has to pay tax and not the buyer, just to understand. However, the onsite explanation and the Rep infos I received are very general.

Thus I am asking here: Did Namepros colleagues experience a taxable sale on Afternic?

To give credit where credit is due...

I received an offer on Afternic this morning and (brace yourself) within 2 hours the broker had contacted me and sent email/called the buyer with my selling price.

This is the way things should work, as the first buyer contact needs to be done as soon as possible, and at the very least, within 24 hours. Otherwise, sales suffer.

;) Since it's due Q1, probably best to wait till 31 March before asking that...

That is great news! You got a broker name (maybe just initials)?

I think I just got random good luck, as none of my other Afternic negotiations moved an inch. I also received subsequent offers that have not moved since I submitted my purchase price.

At least you are receiving offers LOL

All I get is countless leads that go to Stalled after a few days. Especially crazy this year.

Jeez, I've got more stalls than a horse stable.

It's just a natural by-product of the way Afternic is designed and how incredibly slow it runs. You'd have to be a very aggressive buyer to wait and wait and wait on a small transaction that could be closed on Dan in minutes, instead of weeks.

Yeah... Unfortunately, it's true. Visiting Lead Center is like going to a desert. Except it's much more satisfying to be in the actual desert.

Likely more profitable too, as there's always that slight chance of striking oil.

Make them cheap. Not so many stalls anymore, you gonna sell'em! :giggle:
Makes sense for certain names, not for others.

On a more serious note, I get a couple tens of stalls for each sale that goes through. (more or less)

If you go much higher than that, maybe you need to check your pricing. Otherwise it'd be a normal thing. My pricing is definitely lower/ low-ish than full retail pricing in general BTW.

Just my 2 cents. good luck
