Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Apparently sale being cancelled by afternic on pretence of "we failed to verify ownership" isn't one off case as they told me on twitter.

A friend just had a sale cancelled yesterday on afternic similar to the situation I faced few weeks back, for me the email on file is same for both the afternic as well Godaddy account, the name was in transfer lock at Godaddy and the buyer also had account at Godaddy (outbound so I know this)

The worse part is they don't even make an effort to verify ownership or inform the seller before cancelling the sale.

My friend's thread here

And, as one would expect, I had names move to In Review that had been fine before.

That's my big fear - do a mass update just for CamelCasing and get hit with a pile of "In Review" domains.

The auto-change in Landers isn't good news either, as I use different ones depending on the scenario. I guess this is a bug, and the import system treats these updates as "new domains" and assigns them the default lander.

Hi @DomainRecap
That's correct. Any fields/columns you leave blank will not be updated. For example, you can update CamelCasing on 1,000 names, and update the floor price on just two of them by entering your new floor price. Any fields that are blank will not be updated.

So yes - a single column of CamelCase names will work for you!

I just submitted several test CSV files and it seems to work for CamelCase and updating BINs, with no change to my Landers (this issue might relate to Parking landers only). And as there is no Lander field in the upload CSV you need to use the Mass Update tool to change them after.

A Lander field would be a nice update to this CSV import feature, possibly using Numbers 1-X to indicate the lander you want.

How long is this CamelCase Update supposed to take? I put in a CSV file with 2 domains to test and it's been 5+ minutes and nothing has changed.

Nevermind, I just did it a second time and it changed to CamelCase immediately, so I guess these files don't always process correctly and you may need to resubmit.

Hi @DomainRecap
Thanks, Brad. It's still a valid way to close a transaction - Afternic's team will be handling the TA process for you. We will be switching over to GoDaddy URLs later in the year.

Thanks for clarifying that. It's just a bit confusing with the Dan.com checkout link.

I have one in progress. Let's see how it goes.

@GoDaddy i just dm you please view my domains that i have trying to add in afternic but not listing, this's a only problem that i think should be solved but i have another problem related cash parking but i want to solve this one first.

The problem in godaddy is when i try to add domains in godady parking after filling the form and add domains when sign the form then click next then give error "this can't be submit at this time try late" and i have contacted live chat support many time but they looks very helpless, i mean they even don't know how they can solve my problem so now i don't contact live support because i think they can't solved my problem so at the end i moved my traffic domains to sedo.

I don't know why this big company killing their market, i pray for Godaddy they able to solved their member problems because now this problem very painful.

I moved my domains from Dan to Afternic a month ago.

Someone said when you check Lead Center, also click on the more link.

When I checked the lead center, nothing showed. Then I clicked the "more" link and
this shows in this order over the past two days....

"Lead created"

"Status updated to Qualifying - Attempting to engage with the buyer"

"Email sent to buyer"

"Email sent to buyer"

"Buyer call logged"

Hoping this is a positive and bid comes thru.
Exactly what i have noticed this.. i have received last week a email by afternic and they said we received price request then i enter the bin and floor and click on lead center nothing when i click on "All" then i have noticed 4 open enquiries going on and which one is stalled and now three still in negotiation face and after this i m very happy i hope atleast one sale should be done.

Par for the course, and Afternic has more Stalls than a Pickpocket.

I finally got finished creating, uploading and processing all my CamelCase and BIN listings to Afternic during lunch today, and I can finally rest a few seconds.

The bulk tools are certainly providing useful, but in order for Afternic to be a long-term solution, it requires the following:

Self-Brokerage - I realize this has been announced, then delayed, and then announced again for 2025 by GoDaddy, but this is an absolutely integral part of any domain marketplace and hopefully someone lights a fire under the right GD team's ass to get this completed ASAP.

And self-brokerage should also be real-time for offers and counters (no delays for manual processing or approval by a "man behind the curtain") and include some type of messaging functionality between buyer and seller. Again, just look at what Dan offered as it was top-of-the-line for the industry.

Improved UI and Dashboard - The UI and Dashboard at Afternic are archaic and hold back users from achieving sales. There are many pages of absolutely no use, others that display nothing, and still others that do not work (The Lead Center area is a great example - only "More / All" section is functional and useful). GoDaddy should just try to create an Afternic version incorporating what Dan offered, with all the key info on one compact Dashboard page with a few tabs for secondary data. .

A Description Field - Again, a text description field is a basic feature present on many domain marketplaces (including NP and our dear-departed Dan) where investors can include custom descriptions, possible end-uses and other hype to get a sale. And it's a pretty easy feature to incorporate.

Recently Viewed Sorting - This was a killer feature at Dan and allowed users to see which of their domains was getting the most recent action, which helped determine pricing if an offer came in.

There is a workaround for this -- you have to export your portfolio. Then in Excel you can sort on that column (but you have to get rid of the domain names with no views because they represent with a "dash"). I agree it would be so much better/easier if you could sort within the online portfolio view.

This feature is essential and must be added same like DAN .

But aren't those just Monthly Views and I believe you can sort them on Afternic now.

I'm referring to the "Recently Viewed" sorting option on Dan, whereby the very latest, up-to-the minute page views are sortable. As in, someone clicks on SlowDaddy.com and a few seconds later, SlowDaddy.com is at the top of of the list.

It was one of the more popular features on Dan.

I sold another domain without Boost enabled today. This time it was a .US.

I am going to assume it was via the lander traffic, because I doubt anyone searched for the term with extension.

Even with "Boost" enabled, it wouldn't have done anything.

The bottom line is I continue to make sales without "Boost". From my random searches, I am skeptical that the suggestions really do anything to help sell domains.

you're right -- it's from the last 30 days. And I just noticed they added the sort arrow for that column, so that's good to know!

So, what's the process with the "checkout link"?

I sent the link to the buyer. I assume they did something with it, as the link now shows -

"This domain is not available anymore".

When I go to my Afternic account, I can't see any reference to the sale under lead center or sold sections.
Where do pending checkout link transactions appear? @GoDaddy

If you are any real serious for the domainer's community, then you will reinstate the afternic marketplace, as you are now closing down DAN permanently, so that buyers could search options of domains through keywords of their choice. This is what buyers and Sellers expect, who work equally hard to buy and sell good keyword domains. Rest is all gimmickry otherwise, as you are not listing otherwise at any platform and thus no marketplace virtually you offer, so how can you be called friends to the domainer's community or even helpful to buyers. You are only going to sell more shitty domains and tlds just and let clutter the market with no helpful cause.

Heads up @GoDaddy /Afternic!

I pulled my entire portfolio shortly after the "Boost" announcement.

Yesterday I decided to re-add them and this is one of the many issues I discovered.

There is a massive sync failure on the Afternic side.

Newly added domains are not generating internal Afternic marketplace sales pages.

Visiting the internal sales page (afternic.com/domain/domainhere.com) results in the following error:

Show attachment 265270

The BIN and Custom landers appear to be fine. However, when you click next, you'll see that buyers are not being directed shopping carts.

Instead, they are being directed to inquiry forms as shown in the example below:

Show attachment 265271

Show attachment 265272

If that's not bad enough, when there's total sync failure on the Afternic side, the only partner network who receives a feed is Godaddy.

For all you investors using the BIN and Custom landers, you might want to rethink it until they get this sync under control.

Again, this only affects new Afternic listings. If you delete and re-add, those will be affected as well.

Anyone using BIN and Custom landers should easily be able to duplicate this with their new listings.

Note: The example I used here is not from my portfolio, which is why it's redacted.

The obvious question: Post-migration, why can't we delete any domains at Dan.com, or the entire

Okay, I went through the Afternic BIN listings (that I used as a test set) that I set up yesterday.

This morning when I click on the "Next" button they are all getting a "403 Forbidden" error. The BIN links only seem to work if you have an active GoDaddy account and you are already logged in. Once I click "Next" from an active browser (logged into GD on another tab) the transition works properly, but not otherwise.

I have no idea what the hell is going on here as a potential customer should be able to click a BIN and be sent to GD without an active and logged in GD account.

Afternic glad to see sales again. Now come on with self brokerage. That's all we're really asking for. We have accepted that the .sucks extension will always have priority over our more premium listings.

The views numbers keeps shrinking till ZERO , it never been like this at DAN .

The domains are not showing as a suggested results at godaddy search !!

Even at google search the results are poor and not as before with DAN lander !

Is that what godaddy want ?? only results of cross promo's for hand regs and other garbage TLDS ??

And no Google Analytics OR Recently Viewed Domain stats, just to keep domainers blind and unaware of what's happening !

Is thats the goal of BOOSTING and afternic lander ?? OR for the robbery of additional 5% ??

Hi @TheDomainsCollector
We've replied - looks like Afternic's support team will be able to help you resync these domain names.

Thanks for your feedback @DomainRecap. We're making great progress with self brokerage, and we'll keep the other items in mind.

Hi Brad,
If the buyer has submitted their payment, our TA team will process and collect the payment and will be in touch with you for the next steps. Once processed, it should display in your sold area.

If you are any real serious for the domainer's community, then you will reinstate the afternic marketplace, as you are now closing down DAN permanently, so that buyers could search options of domains through keywords of their choice. This is what buyers and Sellers expect, who work equally hard to buy and sell good keyword domains. Hi @Finest Domainer
Afternic's not going anywhere - it continues to be the world's premier domain sales platform, helping connect thousands of buyers and sellers.

Afternic glad to see sales again. Now come on with self brokerage. That's all we're really asking for. We have accepted that the .sucks extension will always have priority over our more premium listings.
Hi @End User King
We're making good progress on self brokerage, and we'll let the community know once it's released.

Hi @love4ever
Views counted are direct visitors to your domain's landers. While we can't speak for other marketplaces, Afternic does remove any identified bot traffic from the views column to ensure that your stats aren't skewed.
