A Records and Cname - Help needed!

Hi,

The domains I own were registered at Godaddy.

I just bought the 'Baby' Hosting with Hostgator. I now understand I would need a reseller pack to access their DNS controls.

Having changed the name servers to Hosgator I no longer have access to Godaddy's Total DNS

I need to add a number of A Records for some of my domains.

Is there a work around? eg. a way to modify the total DNS on Godaddy before changing the Nameservers to Hostgator.

I would appreciate your advice

Mike

Sure, a couple of options:

- Keep your nameservers at GoDaddy, but change the "A", CNAME, MX and other records to your HG IP address

- Ask HG to manually edit the DNS entries for your website for you

Note that there is no point modifying the DNS at GoDaddy unless you have the nameservers still pointed with them.

Actually that is the best option to ask your web hosting service provider to take care of the changes

That takes up 72 hours for the name servers changing
