Hi All - Just wondering are there any negative affects if you hosted the same website Twice using a seperate domain for each of them.

I have a .eu domain / 2 page site that looks "at the moment" like it will be earning about $ 1000 ish a month in affiliate clicks.

I also have a few other very similar domains covering the same subject so I was thinking of maybe having 2 or 3 sites with the same info on but using different domains.

Any one have experience of this sort of thing or would like to offer suggestions / opinions ?

Will this have any effect on search engine placement as it is currently number 1 in msn for the search term ?

Thanks :)

If you mean duplicating the site word-for-word, Google will eventually select one of the sites as the "original source" and then view the other sites as "Duplicate Content". This will will more than likely result in Google penalizing the additional sites - ie. not give them any ranking or maybe not indexing them at all.

Yahoo and MSN have been behind the curve on duplicate content issue, but both are making major changes to the algorythms and will probably handle "Duplicate Content" in a similiar way in the very near future if they are not doing so already.

Now if you go back through and rewrite the majority of your text you can probably avoid the "Duplication" issue and keep everything else the same - layout, graphics, etc.

Thanks - I thought this would be the case if I just pointed two different domains to the one site which is not what I intend to do, changing most of the text and images in it and keeping the layout the same would be very easy/quick to do :) so i may give that a try.

Thanks Zilla, Well, its probably too early to tell if it will make that much each month, I am just starting to try affiliates and am still trying to get my head around it all :-/

My account is showing $900 right now so even if I don't earn anything else I'll still be happy enough with it, it'll pay for quite a few renewals :hehe:

The vast majority of the links on the site don't earn anything as I have only signed up for one affiliate so there's alot of room to improve on it.

I must admit if these figures are correct and continue I will be starting to develope as many of my names as possible

update:

Hmmm - the more I look at this the more it seems like a possible glitch in their system ?? :-/
