So I was on this forum that had a miny section for computers. I realized how many people knew a little but wanted more. I enjoyed helping them so much I decided I wanted to join a computer forum, much like NP$ in the way it works. I found to my surprise the #1 Google search doesn't even have 200 members. The forums look horrible. I was thinking it might be profitable to make a forum for computers. Is anyone interested in starting one with me? Do you think it is a good idea?

Thank you I am updating rep. I found both of those and just felt like they weren't exactly what I was searching for.

I don't know what experience you have behind you but I think that's probably one of the hardest forums to start up.
You need to be prepared for a lot of hard work actually getting it up and running.

Also "computers" may be a bit general for a forum. Ideally it's best to focus on a specific area. I don't know though, if you've got a lot of drive and commitment it probably can be accomplished.

Visit www.forumuniversity.com and go to the "Campus" section
You'll find lots of helpful tips and examples about running/making a forum there. The people who run it are pros in the forum world.

Good luck :)

It think there are some computer forums already very active so you might find it a bit hard to start off with and get members
