Today is the 7 year anniversary of the .tv subforum.

Well it has been another year for the .tv subforum. There have been some changes this year, such as the position of the forum and changes to the marketplace. I want to thank everyone who has continued to support this place and thank Eric Lyons who has worked hard to keep .tv having its own sub forum here on Namepros.

Domainer of the year goes to Jeff Overman who has had an exceptional year both in personal sales and in assisting others with their sales.
Jeff has really done an excellent job.

Volume here has spiked up at times and over the summer traffic was up as much as 200 %.

The year has seen the extension of the .tv contract with Tuvalu. Some really good months for .tv sales with more activity going on privately as some are doing deals privately and others are tracking those moves through whois.

Forums are well ingrained today, back in 2005 there was no conversation about .tv except for "those prices are too high" and ".tv sucks"

As I say every year thanks to John, Jean Francois, Lance, Ian and .mike thanks for having the interest in the extension that got Rj and I to create this place.

It will be interesting to see how new tlds affect alt extensions like .tv, how it will affect end user expectations on price and how domainers will adapt to an Internet where the buyer has more choices.

Best of luck to everyone and thanks for participating.

Happy 7th Anniversary to this great .tv forum. Ray you have done a great job.

Also, congrats to Jeff on being Domainer of the year. He deserves it and really has worked hard and excelled.

Also, I appreciate being nominated for Hall of Fame. I started buying .tv in 2000 right when they came out, and it's been a long 12 years, but .tv has done me and many others very well, wish I could disclose all the NDA sales, but if you have good names, be patient, .tv can really pay off. Thanks for all your guys support!

Great job in managing the forum and creating a place for folks to discuss and learn. It will be 7 years for me in .tv (December) and it's been an exciting journey! Appreciate the efforts!

Congrats to Jeff as well! He deserves success and my dealings with him were smooth and easy.

Actually, seems that the certainty that was Larry White (Laurent Blanc) taking over is lessening with the success of OGS over in Norway with his team!

How many more bathrooms to go?

Love OGS!

No bathrooms to go now ,although the staff quarters could do with a tidy up as could the stables.

I wonder how many of us will be around here in another 7 years!

Congrats to Jeff, he has done really well.

Well Done Ray on helping create such a consistently useful forum. Many here would have fallen at the numerous obstacles and hurdles to development/profitability had we not been able to get a clear view of what was ahead by 'standing on the shoulders of giants'.

A big thank you for your efforts and I would like to add a very big shout out to the many who heard your call, joined the forum, shared their knowledge, and helped others, like myself, gain a profitable foothold in an area in which there was previously little information.

If the amount we saved in just knowing where to simply renew or reg a name at the best price was a factor then I would suggest your initial work has saved the rest of us many hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I'd like to pass on my congrats to Jeff for his Domainer of the Year Award. Looking at his backstory of Rise, Fall and Rise this was truly an inspired choice. Well done Jeff and I hope 2013 is double as successful as 2012 has been.

People, as we know, come into and fall out of the .TV arena all the time (how can we ever forget the 'Serious Investor', 'Swiss Investor' or even 'Snoop') but we do seem to have our fair share of those who come along, learn all they can, and then re-cast the mold of what being successful in .TV is all about.
Some of the people in this category, who have breathed new life and ideas, and should be noted are LinM, TJ, and Manos.

There are considerable profits to be made in .tv. The fact that so many people have stayed 'interested and invested' is testament to that fact.

The WHOIS never lies. There are now more names seen as owners than ever before and .tv is now a norm in business.

Ray - you were an initiator in a time when very few even knew .tv existed. Thanks for starting the snowball rolling and I hope the rest of us will be able to help roll it faster and bigger over the coming years.

I haven't posted on this forum in a while but I wanted to say:

EQUITY78 As usual thanks once again for creating this forum. None of us would have been able to enjoy the .TV ride thus far without this forum, this is still the original old school .TV forum, shout out to DOT TV NATION from way back in the GOLDEN ERA OF .TV !!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thanks to all the old school .TVers and thanks to all the New Generation as well who have got in on this wonderful extension!!!

Best wishes to all during this holiday year and 2013 and beyond!

no criteria really as it was really just something done in fun. It was started for the people way back at the beginning and this year added more than the norm.

I have to edit the post because there were some from a few years ago I did not include in the post

SKG
Antonis12
Makis
and Len

You know Brett I forgot about your back in the day name so we can put you in there.

No mate, that was not my intention. Im really not bothered. I was actually thinking more of Snoop and Microguy because although they are not .tv (Tuvalu's) favorites sons, maybe they deserve the titles too. -

My vote would be - Hall of Fame Inductees Snoop and Microguy! :imho:
