Hello all,

For several months, I have been recording 6N sales from Asian auctions. I now have enough data (thousands of sales) to offer some perspective on the 6N market and general trends. Because the market is so liquid (and large), I have segmented the data into specific "pattern" types which have a large enough sample size to be meaningful.

Please note that there are other threads for showcasing your domains and discussing 6N in general terms. In this thread, I will highlight and discuss only 6N.coms sold at auction (live bids and confirmed buyers) on Asian platforms. I will use this thread to focus on specific pattern sales with short commentary. Hopefully, this will help buyers and sellers in pricing and bidding.

Please note:

1. I have not captured every sale, but am confident I have recorded "most".

2. I make no warranty as to the accuracy of the final sales price as I am relying on the auction sites and the sales reporting site Chaomi.

3. There is a lot of data and almost impossible to capture all. For perspective, the pattern I will analyze today has almost 80 recorded sales in the last 7 days. How many of this pattern were published on Namebio in the last 7 days? The answer is 0. Feel free to add sales that I may have missed or from lesser known auction sites.

4. Sales are in Chinese yuan (CNY)- Conversion guide (changes daily, so not precise):

2000 CNY- $304
2250 CNY- $342
2500 CNY- $380

Comment: 13 sales, average: 2631 CNY ($400) Low 2400 High 3300 (8 end). The number 9 is always strong and this data confirms.

Summary: Remember, this is one week. There are hundreds of data points for each triple over the last few months. This pattern bottomed in early-mid December at 1400-1600 CNY on low end. The last two weeks show increasing price.

I will analyze the next pattern in a day or two.

Hold both of you guys! After hitting October the floor will get a bit higher and patterns will gain real grounds! We will start seeing much less in teh drop, which will make our lives much easier anticipating profits or at least a break even could be in the horizon!

It's interesting but my worst loses with 6n.coms were with ultra premium patterns e.g. 288869.com bought for $1k and sold for under $200, other 888 with one 0 at the start bought for $400 or so each and sold for $69 each etc. (I made ROI overall in 6n's, but my later purchases at the top were a disaster).

Better patterns apart from a few exceptions here and there have crashed through the floor for 6 months and I would get less today for those names. Just because they are great 6n's doesn't mean you can't lose as I can testify with my own sales at NJ.

This will change once the supply softens! effective 45 days ago and for the coming 4 months, there will be a HUGE rush to sell! NJ is flooded with names on a daily basis, this doesnt serve teh market any good. Once we have at 80% less supply, things will really change! Thats normal everywhere, there was a flood of 4L western .coms 1 month ago on Godaddy, I managed to get a lot of names at 50% the normal auction realizations! Today, I can flip them for a 100% profit!
So 2 factors to consider here,
1) Renewals time of the first registration rush (Until Oct-Nov)
2) Softening supply by the same time.

This will yield some good outcomes for investors. Once you see only 2-3 patterns auctioned everyday, the bidding wars will be more focused and better realizations will be there!

I guess over the summer there will not be much "happening" because the prices reached bottom few weeks ago, demand has risen since. So I guess they will stay nearly the same till the end of August. later on, there are no guarantees that they will go up again. They may and likely will, but like with all options chances are 50:50 its pure guessing. We all just can hope that the ones with 0s and 4s get backordered all the time, so there is virtually constant buyout. Without that we could see another crash for further 50 - 80 % and the prices could literary sink down the drain.

This isn't about 6n.coms, it is all liquid chinese assets going up because of this story. I was going to buy a ton more 6n's seeing this story but decided I have plenty 4l.nets, 5l.com chips etc. so they will all benefit if this carries on for a while. All boats are rising and will rise so if you have chinese speculative assets you should be happy if you can time this right.

I believe I explained it above.

This has everything to do with China approving .coms with real name verification -http://www.thedomains.com/2016/07/2...ion-requirements-finally-enabled-com-domains/ There were so many rumours about will China ban .com and .net etc. but this story finally put that to bed and Chinese investors are pilling back in with the uncertainty out the way.

Have you seen 4l.net chips, they are up over 50% since this story and now 6n.coms are flying today.
If I wasn't already crazy exposed to the chinese speculative markets of 5l.com chips etc. I would have bought in a ton more in recent days. It is going up more from here.

Guys, we are here to report the sales, if any member has any number of 6N domains, they can decide on their own just reading the above, please dont defocus the readers' attention by posting here a name that you own and asking its worth! Based on recent posts the market is starting to pick up, what does this mean? It means theoritically you can be in a better position if you held your names for now, is this guaranteed? Hell no, nothing is guaranteed else the World's Central Bank would have put all its capital in there

I personally think they will now go much higher from here and this is just the start.

I said in the past when a day or two of upswing happened that they were nothing and would continue to go down and so it happened. However, due to the story I mentioned above I think this is the start of a big wave up of all chinese speculative assets. I think 1k RMB for chips will happen soon.
