Hello all,

For several months, I have been recording 6N sales from Asian auctions. I now have enough data (thousands of sales) to offer some perspective on the 6N market and general trends. Because the market is so liquid (and large), I have segmented the data into specific "pattern" types which have a large enough sample size to be meaningful.

Please note that there are other threads for showcasing your domains and discussing 6N in general terms. In this thread, I will highlight and discuss only 6N.coms sold at auction (live bids and confirmed buyers) on Asian platforms. I will use this thread to focus on specific pattern sales with short commentary. Hopefully, this will help buyers and sellers in pricing and bidding.

Please note:

1. I have not captured every sale, but am confident I have recorded "most".

2. I make no warranty as to the accuracy of the final sales price as I am relying on the auction sites and the sales reporting site Chaomi.

3. There is a lot of data and almost impossible to capture all. For perspective, the pattern I will analyze today has almost 80 recorded sales in the last 7 days. How many of this pattern were published on Namebio in the last 7 days? The answer is 0. Feel free to add sales that I may have missed or from lesser known auction sites.

4. Sales are in Chinese yuan (CNY)- Conversion guide (changes daily, so not precise):

Triple 6 usually gets higher prices and recent data continues that trend.

Comment: 13 sales, average: 2631 CNY ($400) Low 2400 High 3300 (8 end). The number 9 is always strong and this data confirms.

Summary: Remember, this is one week. There are hundreds of data points for each triple over the last few months. This pattern bottomed in early-mid December at 1400-1600 CNY on low end. The last two weeks show increasing price.

I will analyze the next pattern in a day or two.

Yes ending with 555, but anyway. Ive seen a recent drop on the Namejet and the auctions are not reported at namebio. Backorders for the ones starting with pairs are 79 - 89 USD ending on auctions. The supply is enormous on Namejet, dont know what is happening, maybe some big investor didnt renew thousands of names.

BTW have you seen the sale of 872199.com for 4500 USD LOL This was the guy who did some bidding on his own Auction at NP, was restricted and was selling this 2 days ago at NP with his brand new username. He has made a new account now.

It seemed already that the prices will go up, but there has been another crash in the last days. ABCABC.com non Chip was going for about 500. This was the first time I saw non Chip in this pattern below 1000. The ones ending with 88 dropped from 500+ to 350- on Namejet. I guess the prices will not improve till the end of the summer.

If China can devalue their currency to manipulate the economy it's a sure bet they can manipulate the domain market to get the best at a fraction of the real value.. You as an investor have to stay put and not sell into the scam that devalues your domains...Stand your ground..Don't be fooled by their Phantasm.

Yes today is a decent day. Also it's been a high volume of 850 names sold so it's not biased by a few names. We need like 100 days like this to be back on track!

Chinese auction activity looks to have picked up in the last few days. More bidders and sales. Yesterday almost 900 domains were sold.

We need more of these, At least 600K domains are up for renewal in teh coming 3 months. Thats aroumd 6K names expiring everyday! We are seeing less than 1% of that number in the drop, which is good! People are liquidating instead of letting them expire, which means someone is still interested to buy a non-chip non-pattern even for a buck, and renew it same day for $8! so the actual floor now for 6Ns is $9.

The breaking point now is October this year, once the domains are all renewed. Once this period lapses, domains will be with real investors and no more flood offerings will be on teh table, which will lead to better realizations... hopefully.

I have mixed feelings about this, and thats not smart, but the reality is as always I wont ever lose a penny on this. I am renewing the 150 domains I got and will renew them again next year and the following one... yes I will pay 3 renewals for these names! I have $1.3K in my books for each year just to renew these 150 names! BOLD bet, but not bad, as most of my names arent the floor quality!
