4th Highest Sale of 2007 Heads New DNJournal Top 20

The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. This week Moniker.com reported their first wave of completed sales from last month's live and silent auctions at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C West conference in Las Vegas. The high bids had been reported shortly after the conference ended, but we do not chart sales until domains have been paid for and transferred to their new owners. That process was completed for over three dozen domains this week including one six-figure blockbuster that ranks as the 4th highest sale reported so far in 2007.

.Mobi had the top sale among the Global Contenders this week but .net easily won the numbers game taking 13 of 20 entries on that chart. Canada ruled the Country Code chart with a .ca sale that cracked the $13,000 mark. You can get all of the details through the link below:

Thanks Duke.
Nice to see the .ca (even though I think it's intended to represent california :)

.CA = California (I love it!) :lala: :bingo:

Thanks, Duke ... looks like a pretty decent :$: showing at Traffic, IMHO.
Will there be more reported sales of .MOBI's ... once the payments and transfers / Whois's are completed in next week's edition? :gl: :talk:
See you soon.

Yes, typically auction transactions are finalized over a period of several weeks.

Righto, that seems reasonable ... I'm very much looking forward to seeing who are the new owner's / developers of the .MOBI's sold at Traffic (and, obviously, the four primo RFP'd .MOBI's, as well)! :music: :talk:

Thanks again, Duke.

I feel good about my country knowing that people think it means California.. And trust me I know people who thought that.

It is nice to see though that the Canadian CCTLD (.ca) is actually picking up some good sales. :) Even if Hollywood.Ca makes no sense because there is no Hollywood in Canada. And using a .ca for a US city website won't make the CIRA happy..

Does this mean .net values are going up?

Generally speaking, I would not say this is the case IMHO.

Those reported here as sold are of far better quality than any old .NET's, in my view ... and the extension, again very generally, continues to struggle in typical Wholesale. Obviously, it depends greatly on the perception of the specific .NET's worth to an potential buyer ... this is not, then, indicative of "all .NET ships will rise when the tide comes in"! :gl:

Just my view and experience on the .NET.

But the party who bought Hollywood.ca is from Canada and who knows, they might be having some info, we don't know perhaps.. Hollywood, could be the 12 th province of Canada after Florida, occupying the 11th spot!!!! LOL

Screw CIRA - if a Canadian or someone else who meets the residency requirements buys say - newyork.ca and makes a website out of it they can do sweet nothing about it. :)

Just more potential uses for our .ca domains.

Disney

CIRA doesn't mind Disney.ca or Disneyland.ca.

Well I am very proud to be Canadian and if I say anything I might hurt myself later so I won't lol. But it is nice to see .ca getting some sales.

Canadians are smarter then the average polar bear. I moved out of my Igloo a few years ago and started selling domains and wool blankets to the Mounties. :hehe:

Actually BC has been referred to as Hollywood North.

But hey, I figure that paying that much for a domain should entitle the buyer to use it for pretty much anything he wants.
