Big Boy name. 3D movies are hot right now. If 3D sticks and moves more into the home theater than you have the potential for low $XXX,XXX. I personally think it is probably a mid $xx,xxx value currently.

I think the plural could be worth millions to a studio unless 3D disappears again for a decade. Good luck with it. I wouldn't develop it unless you are going to put serious money into it. (See the plural website for how not to develop a mega domain IMO)

Very good feedback. I am not developing in to Big development project. I am just doing it to improve a seo so it holds good rankings.

I am not doing any work on the site currenty. It pulls in about 4 to 5 bucks per week.

I dont think this name is worth xx,xxx now, If 3D movies keep getting produced and keep getting bigger like Avatar did in the beginning, then this name will increase in value...you would struggle to find a buyer at the moment because most studios and production companies have a site and don't need a name like this. You need to find someone who wants to start a site for just 3D movies and the hardest part with this is getting a start-up to part with high x,xxx, nevermind xx,xxx

At the moment, 3D movies seem to have stalled a bit at the cinema compared to the beginning of last year, so who know what will happen?

You are asking for the .net mid x,xxx which I am sure if you sell will increase the value of .com as well to even higher than mix xx,xxx.

As you said you have had offers for .net in the x,xxx range, which means, .com would be alot higher than that.

I disagree, you will never sell this for xx,xxx now, appraoch as many end-users as you want, it just wont sell for that right now or even in the next few years, it might sell for that in 5 years time if we get more movies of the Avatar size come out, but until then, you wont be getting that range

I know the previous owner and I we discussed 3D names quite a bit and I know what sort of money he wanted and what he got offered and you know what you paid for it, so those are the realistic figures at the moment

Yes, there will be ppl saying the opposite but really, development is needed for CRAPPY domains. This is a great one. Developing it would make potential buyers feel s though they'll need to keep a similar site & not the one they envision. Your domain could actually LOSE VALUE if you develop it.

My suggestion would be hold it. 3D technology is at infant age right now and people are not buying because of the stupid glasses. Glasses Free 3D TV is just around the corner. Manufacturers are already making it and test it.

This name's strength may become it's achilles heel. Standardization of no-glasses 3D movie format in theaters and at home would make the prefix '3D' redundant. It wouldn't surprise me if this happens within 10 years. Markets are forward looking and many investors see 3D as the next 'color movies'. If you are bullish on generic movie dotcoms, this might be a good time for a defensive flip. Exit 3D movie near the top and enter a 'standard/format-insensitive' [prefix]movies.com name like [new/free/horror/latest] etc. Moving pictures aka movies will be around for a long time.
