Are you just relying on them coming to you and/or a broker or are you going after an end user yourself?

whats the best way to do it? hire what brokers?

I believe lennco is referring to how you have received your offers.

Did your retain a broker for the name?

Did you make the initial contact yourself to potential end-users?

Were the offers from random inquires?

As for value, If you already have a high offer of $16K, then I would say thats a good indicator and estimate of the current value.

The best way is try and go after the end user yourself, you email all the type of companies I listed before.

If you find a buyer then use Sedo for your escrow.

If you want to use a broker then most would probably be happy take that name on.
Toby Clements would probably try and sell it for you.
He handles a lot of sales and recently sold BJ.com for $325k

Good luck

I wouldn't say since he has received 1 offer that's good indicator and estimate of the current value.

He needs to get the word out to the right end users and see then what is offered and I bet that value goes up.

I don't think you should sell at all! With the right development, advertising, affiliation...you have such a solid monthly earner in the entertainment industry right there!

Or eventually someone from Hollywood will come along, want to use that title and .com enough for their movie of the same title, they'll pay at least a million. ;)

Oh, also, I really think you should change the theme. I'm not affiliated, but you should really check out this movie clone script on Warrior Forum...

Point taken, I will be researching myself too. I figure its not too hard to do my part.

I agree that the name has alot more potential for value. But Im referring to the value as it stands today. He has a 16K offer, so thats what the current value would be, or what someone is willing to pay right now.

The true value of any domain is only what someone is willing to pay. Any numbers above that is really just speculation or a rough estimate.

Im only using this method because there is an actual offer on the table. This gives the best appraisal you can ask for.

Without any offers, the estimated values can differ greatly. ;)

One hell of a domain.
I wouldn't sell it to resellers, since you will probably only get x.xxx

150.000 would be my price tag

I like it, I think you could get high x,xxx or low xx,xxx for the name

I know the previous owner of the name and we chatted quite a few times about the name. I own the .net which has received a few offer over the last few years

Whats your asking price for 3dmovie.net and what range did you recieve offer?

I might be interested in acquiring .net, if you mention your price range you were looking for.

Big Boy name. 3D movies are hot right now. If 3D sticks and moves more into the home theater than you have the potential for low $XXX,XXX. I personally think it is probably a mid $xx,xxx value currently.

I think the plural could be worth millions to a studio unless 3D disappears again for a decade. Good luck with it. I wouldn't develop it unless you are going to put serious money into it. (See the plural website for how not to develop a mega domain IMO)
